RosaNegra opens in Miami, with a Latin American menu and a speakeasy bar

🍴 Grupo RosaNegra, renowned for its dynamic dining locations in Mexico, opened RosaNegra Miami on December 4, marking its first U.S. venture at Dua Miami, Autograph Collection Hotel. CEO Eduardo Beaven envisions Miami's cultural and culinary diversity as a perfect match for the group's bold Latin flavors and high-energy dining experiences. RosaNegra Miami spans 13,600 square feet, combining indoor space and a patio, offering a speakeasy-style bar and live entertainment aligned with Miami's nightlife. Executive Chef Emiliano Galindo presents a Latin American menu, with USDA Prime and Australian wagyu steaks and exclusive Miami dishes. Beverages include spirits from across Latin America and an extensive Mexican wine selection. Plans for expanding Grupo RosaNegra's presence in Miami and other markets are underway.

Richard Blais has opened Tiki Taka in Scottsdale, Ariz.

😋 Richard Blais, a "Top Chef" alum, launched Tiki Taka on January 7 at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale. Blending Japanese and Spanish flavors, the restaurant features 30 indoor and 108 outdoor seats, and offers a menu with cold plates, hot dishes, pintxos, yakitori, sushi, and desserts. Emphasizing a fusion of sushi and tapas bars, Tiki Taka's drinks menu combines Spanish and Japanese beverages, including wine, sake, and original cocktails like the Osaka Sour.

Duro Hospitality opens the Chumley House, a European-inspired steakhouse, in Fort Worth, Texas

🍴 Duro Hospitality opened its first concept, The Charles, in 2018 and now includes Mister Charles and a European-inspired steakhouse named The Chumley House, which opened on November 25 in Fort Worth. Partners Benji Homsey and Chas Martin have personal connections to the city. The Chumley House, occupying 3,500 square feet with 90 indoor seats and 25 outdoor, is located on Camp Bowie Blvd near new hotels and the Culture District. The menu features European cuisine with global influences, including Indian dishes, and offers a variety of steaks and a cocktail menu with wines from Napa, Bordeaux, and Burgundy.

Vandelay Hospitality opens Le Bistrot Bar Sardine in Dallas

PostBoy in Southwest Michigan draws Michelin-starred chefs to its new pop-up series

🍽 PostBoy, a modern American restaurant in New Buffalo, Michigan, launched its guest chef series "Abandon Ship" post-opening on November 1. January through May, a new chef features monthly. The inaugural event sold out with chef Zachary Engel. Upcoming is a $120 six-course dinner by Michelin-starred chef David Posey on January 12. Wine pairings cost an additional $50, with cocktails à la carte. The collaborative series aims to elevate local dining, capitalizing on the region's growth and attracting vacation traffic.

Zurito is a new Boston restaurant serving jamón, pintxos, and other Basque-inspired dishes

🍴 Boston’s Beacon Hill welcomed Zurito, a Basque-inspired restaurant by BCB3 Hospitality, opened in November. Occupying the former Bin 26 Enoteca, it is the fourth concept by the group led by Jamie Bissonnette, Andy Cartin, and Babak Bina. The space holds 64 diners and features a design reminiscent of San Sebastián pintxo bars. The menu includes bite-size pintxos, Spanish hams, cheeses, and a variety of traditional small plates, complemented by a 32-ounce bone-in rib eye. Wine director Nader Asgari-Tari curated a 400-bottle wine list with Spanish labels and rare vintages.

This Dallas food hall has a unique format blending counter service, full service, and private dining

🍽 Dallas welcomes Victory Social, a new 12,000-square-foot food hall situated near the American Airlines Center. Hospitality Alliance, known for creating dining destinations, launched this upscale space featuring six unique dining concepts and a full bar, managed by veteran chef Josh Harmon. Victory Social provides a diverse range of culinary options, including Rise & Thyme café, Birdie's Southern-Asian fusion, Park Bistro's soups and salads, Itzá Cocina's contemporary taqueria, D’oro Italiano's Neapolitan pizzas and pastas, and Victory Grill's steaks and seafood. The space also offers a private dining experience, with reservations available via Toast. Hospitality Alliance is expanding with three additional concepts at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.

Chef Johnny Lee opens Rasarumah, a Southeast Asian restaurant in Los Angeles

Rasarumah offers a 40-seat space with a menu featuring Malaysian and Southeast Asian cuisine, including dishes like rojak salad, satay skewers, and banana leaf steamed black cod. Toronto’s Mimi Chinese will open its first U.S. location in Miami Beach

🍽 Big Hug Hospitality, founded in 2019 by David Schwartz and Brandon Marek, will open Mimi Chinese in Miami Beach by December 2024. The Michelin-recognized Toronto-based group offers modern Chinese cuisine inspired by Guangdong, Sichuan, Hong Kong, and Hunan regions. The new location is over 4,000 square feet with 88 seats. Mimi Chinese Miami will offer signature dishes and a beverage program with cocktails, wines, baijiu, and sakes. Schwartz received the Michelin Young Chef award in 2023.
