Aparium Hotel Group Expands with New Properties in Nashville, Louisville, and Omaha by 2027

🏨 In 2013, Detroit faced the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history. Mario Tricoci founded Aparium Hotel Group in 2012 and, by 2017, launched Detroit Foundation Hotel, converting a 1929 firehouse. Aparium manages nine hotels, with three more planned by 2027, including a 150-key hotel in Nashville. Tricoci's ventures focus on adaptive reuse in emerging urban areas, with significant revenue from F&B. Aparium's Populus in Denver, a carbon-positive hotel, opened in late 2024, receiving accolades.

Chef Eiji Taniguchi's L’Evo in Toga, Japan, Awarded Two Michelin Stars and Michelin Green Star for Sustainability

🍴 In 2014, chef-owner Eiji Taniguchi founded L’Evo in Toga, Japan, a depopulated village known for its harsh winters and 3-4 meter snow accumulation. The restaurant focuses on sustainability and luxury dining, earning two Michelin Stars and a Michelin Green Star in 2021. Taniguchi, the "Chef of the Year" in 2017 and 2022, trained with the Bernard Loiseau group in France at age 29. L’Evo was relaunched in its current form in 2020.
