Curioso Design Studio, with Nearly 50 Employees, Expands Global Impact with New Hospitality Projects in the Americas

📍 Curioso, a design studio based in Chicago and Mérida, Mexico, was founded in 2013 by Daniel Pierce and Nina Grondin. The firm now employs nearly 50 people. Notable projects include the Fidelity Hotel in Cleveland, a 103-year-old building transformation, and the Atelier Playa Mujeres resort in Cancun, opened in 2020. Future ventures involve Six Senses Grand Bahama and developments in Costa Rica, Mexico, Omaha, and Greenville, with planned openings in 2027 and 2028.

24,000-Square-Foot Pür in Cunda, Turkey, Combines Hotel, Restaurant, and Recording Studio Designed by SOUR

🎤 Pür, located on the Aegean coast of Cunda, Turkey, is a 24,000-square-foot retreat and recording studio designed by SOUR with musicians. Opened in May/June 2026, it includes a 12-room hotel, restaurant, and music production facility. The studio features a 75-piece orchestra room and advanced acoustic engineering. Guests can explore spaces 33 feet underground, with natural light filtering in. It's designed to enhance creativity, aligning the environment with artistic expression.

Virginia Sin Launches Field Lighting Collection Inspired by James Turrell at 2026 International Contemporary Furniture Fair

Her latest collection, Field, shown at the 2026 ICFF, features 120 color and material combinations, inspired by James Turrell's light installations.

🏠 Nora Gharib, an architect from Gharib Studio, began at Snøhetta, analyzing the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt. In 2023, she designed Little Words stores, launching her studio with a team across Miami, New York, and Egypt. Madelynn Ringo of Ringo Studio completed projects like Kuona in Manhattan. Carmen Cárdenas and Nicky Kyrtsis of Studio MaRō launched their studio in 2024, focusing on artisanal projects in Philadelphia. In 2023, Nathan Warkentin founded Warkentin Associates, completing six major projects. Rachael Gowdridge opened her London studio in 2021, designing the Dean Berlin with vibrant hues.

Neri&Hu Transforms Tbilisi's Historic Brutalist Telegraph Hotel into Modern 239-Room Space with Nine Dining Venues

🏨 Architects Lado Alexi-Meskhishvili and Teimuraz Mikashavidze designed the Telegraph Hotel in the 1970s as a post office and telegraph center in Tbilisi. Awarded the National State Award in 1983, it was transformed into a hotel by Neri&Hu and Silk Road Group, featuring 239 guestrooms and nine dining venues. A pivotal courtyard integrates Soviet history with modern design, offering communal balconies and lush greenery. The 2,790 sq. ft. presidential suite includes a terrace and plunge pool.

Villa Dubrovnik Reopens After Four-Year Renovation, Blending Croatian Heritage with Brazilian Design Influence

Chancery Rosewood Transforms London’s U.S. Embassy into Luxury Hotel with 144 Suites on Grosvenor Square

📅 In 2017, London's U.S. Embassy moved, allowing a Grade II 1960 modernist landmark by Eero Saarinen to be transformed into the Chancery Rosewood. Located on Mayfair’s Grosvenor Square, it reopened last September with 144 suites. Significant architectural changes nearly doubled the building's size, maintaining its historical essence. The restoration involved engineering feats, such as suspending the façade over a 98-foot-deep excavation. The project, backed by Qatari Diar, achieved numerous BREEAM credits for sustainability.
