Hellbender in Ridgewood Evolves into Full-Service Restaurant Named One of NYT’s 10 Best New Restaurants 2025

🍴 In February 2024, Chef Yara Herrera opened Hellbender in Ridgewood, Queens, initially as a cocktail bar with a nine-item food menu. By 2025, it was named one of The New York Times' 10 Best New Restaurants. Herrera partnered with Martha Stewart for a May event. By March 2026, renovations created an open kitchen and enhanced dining space, featuring inventive Mexican-American cuisine. Hellbender reflects Herrera’s Los Angeles roots with musical and personal touches, aiming to offer an exciting dining experience.

Kengo Kuma's First U.S. Project, Brandywine Museum in Pennsylvania, Scheduled for Fall 2029 Completion

🏠 Kengo Kuma's first U.S. project, the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art in Pennsylvania, will cover 40,000 sq ft and expand to 325 acres. Construction starts in spring 2027, with completion in fall 2029. Michael Anastassiades will close his lighting brand after 20 years but continue other design ventures. NYCxDesign features new product launches and collaborations, while ICFF showcases prominent design pieces this weekend in NYC, before moving to November in 2027.

Hotel Indigo Nalati Opens in China, Embracing Nomadic Culture and Natural Harmony with Unique Design Elements

🏨 In April 2026, the Hotel Indigo Nalati opened in Nalati Town, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, China, at the crossroads of the Duku Highway and Ili “Figure-8” Scenic Loop. Designed by CCD/Cheng Chung Design, the hotel features structures integrated with the grasslands and Tian Shan mountains. It honors Kazakh culture with elements like yurts and a hearth. The restaurant, Show · A Neighborhood Café, and guestroom designs reflect natural and cultural influences.

Robert Natale Becomes CEO of Sixpenny, Launches New Wild Air Collection Featuring Brand's First Print

📃 In 2010, Robert Natale moved from New Jersey to New York to join Warby Parker. By 2016, he was involved with Sixpenny, a furniture brand founded by Jing Zhang, whom he later married. By 2020, they co-owned the company. As CEO and chief of design, Natale launched the Wild Air collection, featuring Sixpenny's first print. The collection is available at the Sixpenny Loft in Dumbo, Brooklyn, showcasing a California-cozy style.
