Peel Hotels to offload four Northern properties

🏨 Peel Hotels has put four hotels up for sale in Wallingford, Carlisle, Newcastle, and Peterborough. The decision follows founder Robert Peel's retirement, who started his career at 17 and founded Peel Hotels in 1998. The George Hotel, a 16th-century inn with 39 rooms, and the Edwardian Crown and Mitre Hotel in Carlisle offer significant guest capacity. The Caledonian Hotel in Newcastle features 89 rooms, and the 17th-century Bull Hotel in Peterborough has 118 rooms.

London Luxury Hotels Face 2.5% RevPAR Decline Amid Surge of New 757 Rooms in 2025

Bowland Inns and Hotels reports £1m loss despite 3% revenue rise

🏨 Bowland Inns and Hotels reported a pre-tax loss of £1.04m for the year ending 31 May 2025. Revenues increased by 3% to £25.4m. Interest payments rose 18%, with one-off costs at £754k, including £329k in pre-opening expenses. Operating profits grew to £1.39m from £1.06m. The acquisition of Wennington Hall boosted turnover. Net assets were £17.28m. A £25m loan with Barclays was secured in October 2025. The focus is on consolidation and profitability amid rising costs.

Wyndham Hotels to expand across EMEA after ‘record’ growth

🏨 Wyndham Hotels and Resorts expanded in EMEA in 2025, signing 173 deals and opening 126 hotels, adding over 11,500 rooms. The company now operates more than 770 hotels with about 100,200 rooms. Strong travel to Greece, Italy, and Spain, along with domestic travel in India, Türkiye, and the Middle East, fueled growth. RevPAR increased by 6% across the region, while the global development pipeline grew to 259,000 rooms, marking a 3% year-on-year growth.

Adagio FY revenues rise 7% to €339m amid strong occupancy rate

🏨 Adagio reported a 7% revenue increase to €339m (£297m) in 2025, with occupancy rates rising to 81%. They hosted 1.6 million guests, a 14% increase from 2024. The company has 130 properties in 16 countries and expanded with new locations in London, Stuttgart, and Bordeaux. Leisure travelers comprised 55% of stays, business travelers 45%, averaging 5.2 nights. Direct sales account for 50% of bookings. A management partnership with Sergic Group increased their properties in France by 8%.

Staycity enters Munich market with Weisses Quartier lease

🏨 Staycity Group signed a long-term lease for its first Munich aparthotel at Weisses Quartier. The 11,000 sqm development will feature 255 rooms and is one of Munich's largest recent leasing deals. Located near Werksviertel and 'new balan', it offers transport links to the city center and airport. Co-owned by Allgemeine Sudboden and ESR Europe, the site underwent an energy-efficient refurbishment. Staycity aims to cut carbon emissions by 59% by 2034, with a 50% reduction by 2030.

Keswick’s Highfield Hotel sold to local investor for £1.8m

💸 The Highfield Hotel and Restaurant in Keswick has been acquired by a local investor for £1.8 million. The 18-bedroom property, located on The Heads, was sold on behalf of Caroline Speck and the estate of the late Howard Speck. The new owner plans a major refurbishment, expected to take six months. Originally acquired by the Speck family in 2004, they are divesting to focus on other ventures. The sale was managed by Haydn Spedding from Colliers Manchester.

Radisson opens first New Zealand hotel in Auckland

This upscale hotel features 322 rooms and the largest rooftop space in the country, accommodating 219 guests. The hotel includes a fitness center and event spaces and is designed to reflect Auckland's vibrant arts scene. Y Seren in Carmarthenshire opens following £3m investment

🏨 Y Seren Hotel and Restaurant, a new 23-bed boutique hotel in Llangunnor, opened in March 2024 after a £3 million investment. Owners Tudur and Andrea Williams transformed a former care home, creating 55 local jobs. The building, dating back to the 1890s, previously served as a hotel and home to Archbishop David Prosser. Head chef Navi Mudaly leads the kitchen. Future developments include a gym, outdoor hot tub, and wedding facilities, with completion anticipated this spring.
