Dusit to open dusitD2 resort in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia

🏨 Dusit International, in partnership with Al Ghadeer Group, will open dusitD2 Al Ahsa, an upper-upscale resort, in 2027. Located in Al Ahsa Oasis, Saudi Arabia, the resort will feature 120 suites with private terraces and plunge pools. Facilities include a wellness center, ballroom, and dining options. Situated near Al Qarah Mountain and Juatha Park, it's 30 minutes from Al Ahsa International Airport. This marks Dusit's second hotel in Saudi Arabia.

Oyo expects 300 new hotels in the U.S. by end of year

🏨 Oyo has expanded its U.S. portfolio by adding over 150 hotels in the first half of 2025, with plans to double that by year-end. New properties span seven states, including a 400-room Palette Sunset Waves Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, and a 130-room Capital O Kings Inn in Memphis, TN. Oyo focuses on the Sun Belt and Great Lakes regions, enhancing its technology and loyalty programs, and completed its G6 Hospitality acquisition for $525M last December.

Marriott Winston-Salem hotel trades, HVMG to continue as operator

📈 1754 Properties, a South Florida-based real estate firm, acquired the 319-room Marriott Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Hospitality Ventures Management Group continues its operation. Located at 425 Cherry Street, near major universities and corporate offices, the hotel offers 14,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and an indoor pool. 1754 Properties plans a $5 million renovation. The company seeks investments between $40 million and $500 million, enhancing Winston-Salem’s position as a premier destination.

In Westin Cincinnati buy, Portman pivots to acquisitions

🏨 Portman acquired the Westin Cincinnati, a 456-room hotel in downtown Cincinnati. Situated on Fountain Square, it offers 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and amenities including a restaurant, bar, and fitness studio. This is Portman’s first hotel purchase, marking the start of its value-add hospitality strategy. The firm is also the master developer for the city’s $828 million Convention District redevelopment. Portman’s portfolio now includes seven hotels across five markets, managing over $1 billion in assets.

Dusit bets big on France with SYDEL joint venture

This joint venture focuses on Thai hospitality, targeting key French destinations with new hotel concepts emphasizing well-being and sustainability. Brands considered include Dusit Thani and Dusit Suites. Dusit operates 294 properties globally, with 55 hotels and 239 luxury villas, including Dusit Suites Athens in Europe.

Charlestowne goes back to school with two university hotel additions

🏨 Charlestowne Hotels expands to 14 university-affiliated properties by adding Granville Inn in Granville, Ohio, and The Inn at Patrick Square in Clemson, S.C. Granville Inn offers 39 rooms, opened in 1924, and was renovated in 2013. The Inn at Patrick Square provides 45 rooms and 1,830 sq ft of event space. Both inns are located near their respective universities, Denison and Clemson, enhancing local culture and community engagement.

Accor’s Emblems Collection adds three hotels in Italy

🏨 Accor will expand the Emblems Collection in Italy with three new hotels opening in 2026. Locations include Siena, Umbria, and Apulia. The Siena hotel will feature 38 rooms, the Umbria location 51 keys, and the Apulia site 60 suites. The partnership is with Rome-based AG Group. Hotel Bellevue in Cortina d’Ampezzo is also in the collection. Other projects are planned in the UK, Greece, and Canada. Emblems Collection targets luxury via unique, culturally rich properties.

Graduate Dallas opens at SMU

🏨 Graduate by Hilton launched its first Texas hotel, a 93-room site, in July 2025, across from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The hotel introduces mid-century modern Texas ranch interiors and is part of Hilton Honors. AJ Capital Partners redesigned the original Lumen Hotel building, incorporating local design elements. It features Los Charros Tex-Mex Smokehouse and emphasizes community connection. The Graduate brand plans further expansion in Texas, with Austin next in line.

Azora invests in Donkey Hotels Greece Venture

Accor debuts in Las Vegas with its largest-ever resort

Recently updated with multimillion-dollar enhancements, it earned Four Green Globes® certification.
