a&o Hostels acquires two hotels in Manchester

🏨 UK: a&o Hostels acquires ibis and Novotel hotels on Portland and Dickinson Streets in central Manchester from Ares Real Estate funds and EQ Group. Plans include a $8.2 million investment to create 1,218 beds in 303 rooms, with works finishing by Q1 2027. The acquisition is a&o's fourth UK asset. Manchester, attracting 1.9 million visitors annually, is a key strategic target. Over 24 months, a&o has added 8,500 beds across Europe.

At Mine Hospitality assumes management of The Meridian Hotel

Four Lark Hotels set to open in spring 2026

🏨 Lark Hotels will debut four properties in spring 2026 across Massachusetts and New York. Cambridge Common House in Massachusetts will offer 16 rooms near Harvard Square, while The Drew Hotel in Plymouth will feature 25 rooms. Shore Haven, a 21-room hotel in Falmouth, also joins the lineup. In Hampton Bays, New York, the 18-room Penny Lane provides a waterfront setting. Shangri-La signs second luxury resort in Turkey

London office receives planning for luxury hotel conversion

Partners Group acquires The Hoxton Poblenou in Barcelona

The 0.001 per cent and future of hotels

Lafayette Hotels doubles direct bookings with RMS

📈 Lafayette Hotels, US: Since adopting RMS's property management system, direct online bookings have more than doubled over four years, with 70% of reservations now direct across 26 properties. Server and IT maintenance costs decreased by $100,000 annually, and automated accounting saves over 60 hours weekly. The onboarding of new properties takes a minimum of nine days. The transition from six management systems and three channel managers to RMS has streamlined operations and enhanced efficiency.
