Marriott opens Moxy Tulum, first of the brand in CaLa region

🏨 Marriott International has opened the first Moxy hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America, Moxy Tulum, in Mexico. Located near the National Jaguar Park and Tulum's Mayan ruins, the 122-room hotel features modular furniture, keyless entry, and LED lighting. Guests can enjoy a gym, a Temazcal ceremony, and the Moxy Bar & Restaurant. The design incorporates local culture with latticework and clay exteriors. Moxy Tulum is part of Marriott Bonvoy, offering point redemption across Marriott's global portfolio.

📈 Raj Mohan has been appointed as VP & managing director of JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, South Florida, owned by Fontainebleau Development. Residence Inn Reno South opens under Azul Hospitality

🏨 Azul Hospitality announced the opening of the 128-room Residence Inn by Marriott Reno South in Reno, Nevada. Owned by the Pegram and Carano families, the hotel offers kitchenettes with full-size appliances and complimentary Wi-Fi. Amenities include a fitness center with Peloton and Life Fitness equipment, an outdoor pool, a 528-square-foot meeting room, and flexible outdoor spaces. The location is near Tamarack Casino, Mt. Dallas Proper Hotel Residences set to open 2029

🏨 Proper Hospitality, in partnership with Lincoln Property Company, is developing the Dallas Proper Hotel and Residences, a 34-story tower in Uptown Dallas set to open in 2029. Located at 2500 Cedar Springs Road, it will feature 200 guestrooms and suites, 80 branded residences, and amenities like a 15,000-square-foot Wellness Center and a 6,000-square-foot Proper Club. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Kelly Wearstler, it includes three restaurants and a rooftop pool deck.

Leela Palaces moves outside India with Dubai investment

🏨 Leela Palaces, Hotels, and Resorts is expanding to Dubai, marking its first project outside India. By Q3 2026, they will acquire a 25% stake in a 23-acre beachfront resort on Palm Jumeirah, with Brookfield managing the remaining 75%. The resort includes 546 keys, comprising a hotel, residences, and villas, with a purchase price of $504 million. Dubai, a top tourism destination, attracted over 19 million visitors in 2024. The investment uses non-recourse debt and aims for returns within 2–3 years.
