U.S. Travel Industry Urges Legislation to Ensure Pay for TSA and FAA Workers During Shutdowns

TSA officers earn about $35,000 annually, screening nearly a billion passengers. A past 43-day shutdown delayed/canceled 9,000 flights, impacting six million travelers and costing $6.1 billion. The travel industry supports over 15 million jobs, contributing $2.9 trillion annually.

San Francisco Hotels Lead U.S. Performance with 35.3% RevPAR Increase as New Orleans, Las Vegas Face Declines

New York City's occupancy decreased by 12.6%, while Las Vegas saw a 12% occupancy drop, ADR down 26.9%, and RevPAR down 35.7%. San Francisco reported gains with occupancy up 20.3% and RevPAR up 35.3%.
