Lussmanns returns to expansion trail with double opening

🍕 Lussmanns Sustainable Restaurant Group, backed by Luke Johnson, is opening two new locations in London and Woburn, with the Highgate restaurant marking their first opening since 2021. The London site, formerly Côte Brasserie on Highgate High Street, will launch in the following months, while the Woburn site, previously Loch Fyne on the Woburn Estate in Milton Keynes, is set for an October opening. The Highgate restaurant will feature 130 indoor covers plus 30 in a garden, offering sustainable seafood like MSC-certified fishcakes.

Hilton and Small Luxury Hotels Of The World expand partnership

🏠 On July 10, 2024, Hilton integrated nearly 400 boutique hotels from the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) into its luxury brand portfolio, thus offering Hilton Honors members the ability to earn and redeem points at SLH properties. Participating SLH hotels provide additional benefits such as free WiFi and guaranteed discounts. Bookings can be made via Hilton.com and the Hilton Honors app.

1 Hotel San Miguel de Allende To Debut in 2027

🏖 SH Hotels & Resorts announced the 2027 opening of 1 Hotel San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, featuring 97 hotel rooms, 48 residences with terraces, gardens, water bodies, local cuisine, spa, and event space. The adjacent 1 Homes will offer 3-5 bedroom residences with private rooftops and amenities. The project emphasizes sustainable luxury and cultural integration.

🏡 Adrian Fullan’s Black Rock Hotels opened Gray’s at Bushmills, a 17-bed boutique hotel on the Antrim coast, supported by Ulster Bank. Ninebanks Hostel and Chalet in Northumberland, with a four-bedroom cottage, 28-guest hostel, and two-bedroom chalet, is on sale for £675k. Tribe London Canary Wharf awarded Green Key status for environmental efforts like partnering with Made Blue Foundation. The Glencarse Hotel in Perthshire, featuring five en-suite rooms and a restaurant, is on the market for £495k after 11 years under family management.

Tribe London Canary Wharf awarded Green Key status

🚿 Tribe London Canary Wharf received Green Key eco-label for its environmental commitment. Partnering with Made Blue Foundation, the hotel encourages guests to reduce shower time by 15 seconds, saving approximately 100 litres of water per room per night. For each room, 5 pence are donated nightly to Made Blue's water project. Additionally, the hotel introduced reusable glass bottles and installed water filtration systems for all guests. They are the first Tribe to achieve this certification.

Silo’s Fermentation Factory crowdfund reaches target

🗒 London's zero-waste restaurant Silo, led by Douglas McMaster, raised £11,127 from 88 backers for a 'Fermentation Factory' crowdfunding campaign, surpassing its goal with five days remaining. Offering £25 DIY Miso pledges or £100 group tours with McMaster and Ryan Walker, the factory is set to open in September. Founded in Brighton in 2014 and moved to London in 2019, Silo continues its mission to reduce waste in the food industry.

Amex GBT publishes 2024-25 Ground Monitor…

🚗 American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) released “Ground Monitor 2024-2025,” forecasting car rental rates in key business destinations. The sector is stabilizing after over three years of volatility, with moderate price rises expected in the next 12 months. The report covers 12 countries, examines price drivers, corporate car programs, and the shift to electric vehicles (EVs) and smaller cars for emissions reduction. It also explores AI in fleet management. Price rise forecasts include 5% in Germany, 6% in the UK, and an average 4% in Australia, with up to a 15% drop for larger vehicles in France. The Sheraton Lanzhou Anning in Gansu province offers 354 rooms, multiple dining options, a Sheraton Club, an indoor heated pool, fitness center, and 1,900 square meters of event space. Sheraton's global portfolio now exceeds 425 hotels in over 70 countries. SH Hotels & Resorts plans to open 1 Hotel & Homes San Miguel de Allende in Mexico by 2027, featuring 97 guestrooms, 48 residences, and various amenities. BWH Hotels reintroduced itself to Aruba with the opening of Aruba Boutique & Art Hotel in Palm Beach this April. Choice Hotels collaborates with Green Key Global to promote sustainability certification amongst U.S. franchisees.
