🏕 Hyatt Hotels announces the opening of Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the first Hyatt Vivid-branded adults-only resort, launching late 2023. Partnering with Anacaona de Inversiones, this will be the second Hyatt Vivid property after the brand's 2024 inception. Offering four pools, swim-out rooms, a wet bar, spa, gyms, courts, and a healthy snack bar. Dining includes five restaurants and a convention center for 1,000 guests. Hyatt aims to grow its all-inclusive Dominican Republic presence by 30% in 2023, following recent area openings and the Chicago-based company's global reach of over 1,350 properties in 79 countries.

🏦 Luxury hotel group Maybourne to open The Maybourne Saint-Germain in Paris in 2027, transforming the 17th-century Îlot Saint-Germain into a 101-room hotel with 23 ultra-luxury branded residences—the first in Paris. It will feature 50 suites, 51 rooms, six dining venues, a large spa, health club, and three pools, including a 30-meter rooftop pool. Maybourne, owned by Qatari royals Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, aims to triple its portfolio by 2035 to 15-17 properties.

New wellness experts Richie Norton, Rob & Josie Da Bank offer programs extending to spa services, therapies, and more. Body Brilliant provides IV infusions and Pressotherapy for guests. Free People curates festival fashion with a pop-up store and exclusive event. Devonia Water introduces a sustainable practice, saving 94% energy and reducing 3 tonnes of glass waste. Vino Zero caters to non-alcoholic preferences with a premium selection. Rooms range from £2,999 to £27,999 for the Tipi Tenthouse Suite.

🏡 Hilton announces the DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square as part of a franchise agreement with Loughview Leisure Group. Located near Belfast City Hall, it has 131 rooms, including the Jaffe Penthouse, dining options, and meeting space. Along with the DoubleTree Derry-Londonderry and Marcus Hotel Portrush opening in 2025, Hilton will have seven hotels in Northern Ireland. Belfast's tech, finance, and science growth contributed to £672 million in tourism revenue in 2023. Hilton VP Graham Dodd highlights the strategic importance of this expansion.

🏨 Accor expands in Spain with Novotel Valencia Lavant (first in Valencia) featuring 370 rooms, and Ibis Styles Santander, rebranding a 93-room hotel. Novotel is situated between Valencia's historic centre and Palacio de Congresos, while Ibis Styles is near Santander’s centre, port, and university hospital. Novotel includes a two-level rooftop terrace, and both hotels align with Accor's sustainability standards. Accor's Iberian portfolio now has 16 Novotel hotels, with more developments underway, and Ibis Styles Santander opened in July 2022. Partners include Pictet Group, Hesperia World, EXTENDAM, and Continuum Hospitality Group.

👨‍🔬 The Chemists’ Club Hotel, situated at 52 East 41st Street in New York, reopens with a design by Ilmiodesign, offering 107 rooms and suites. The hotel, once a scientific hub since 1898, boasts upscale amenities including Egyptian cotton linens and custom mattresses. Azora, with €14.6 billion in assets, owns the hotel, while Crestline Hotels manages it, overseeing 134 properties and approximately 18,200 rooms across 29 states and D.C. The adjacent Benjamin Steakhouse provides dining options.

🏖️ Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts to open the Bvlgari Resort & Mansions at Cave Cay in the Bahamas by 2029. Expanding into the Caribbean, the resort will join a global portfolio of 13 hotels. It will offer 64 luxury suites, seafront villas, 48 private mansions for purchase, a spa, sports enclave, kids’ club, and a Michelin-starred restaurant. Cave Cay, a 220-acre private island, features white sand beaches and natural caves. The project is advised by Servotel and aims to enhance the Exumas as a high-end tourist destination.

🍝 The Lao Food Movement, started by Chef Seng Luangrath in 2013, catalyzed the rise of Lao cuisine's popularity in the U.S. Chef Jeff Chanchaleune, a two-time James Beard finalist, opened Ma Der Lao Kitchen in 2021 and Bar Sen on February 4 in Oklahoma City. Lao'd Bar in Austin was a James Beard Award semifinalist for best new restaurant. These establishments join others in Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Nashville, and more, serving both traditional and fusion dishes. Ma Der and Bar Sen, both seating 48, offer Lao specialties in Oklahoma City's Plaza District. Ma Der made The New York Times’ 50 best restaurants list in 2022 and was recognized by Bon Appetit.

🏠 Meliá Hotels International and Summum Hotel Group to open Ronda's first 5-star hotel in 2026, located in the 16th-century former Madre de Dios convent with 27 rooms, gardens, and spa. The alliance aims for 500 rooms by 2029. Additionally, they plan to launch a hotel in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca, in 2026, renovating the Hotel Golf Santa Ponsa with 88 rooms and amenities including a rooftop bar and pools, marking their fourth collaboration in Mallorca.

🏠 San Antonio's historic Continental Hotel has been renovated into The Continental, offering 28 furnished units for short-term stays, starting March. The project, a partnership between Placemakr and Weston Urban, is part of a 1.9-acre redevelopment including 290 mixed-income housing units and 22,000 square feet of retail space. Weston Urban announced the Continental Block Development in August 2023, featuring the renovation of two historic buildings alongside a new 16-story residential tower. The initiative complements other investments in downtown San Antonio.
