It applies to websites, registration forms, download pages, newsletters, and related services that link to this notice.
Specific information presented on a registration or download page supplements this notice, including the identity of the publisher or sponsor receiving your information.

3. Access to professional resources
Our guides and other resources are intended primarily for professional use.
Certain resources are available without monetary payment as part of an offer that includes a subscription to 10 Minutes Hotel News professional communications. Where this applies, the condition is stated on the registration page before you submit the form.
By registering for such an offer, you request the resource and subscribe to the professional communications described on that page.
For a sponsored resource, registration also involves sharing your information with the publisher or sponsor identified on the download page, as explained in Section 7.
You may subsequently unsubscribe from marketing communications or exercise your applicable rights at any time. Unsubscribing does not require you to return or delete a resource already received.
Registration for a resource does not, by itself, constitute consent to non-essential cookies or the use of your information for advertising matching or targeting on third-party platforms. Where required, these choices are collected separately.
4. How we collect personal information
Information you provide
We collect information when you subscribe to communications, download a resource, register for an event, complete a form, participate in a survey, or contact us.
This may include your name, professional email address, telephone number, employer, hotel or hotel group, job title, country, and other professional information requested on the form.
Publicly available professional information
We may verify or supplement your information using publicly accessible professional sources, including company and hotel websites, staff directories, professional biographies, industry directories, company announcements, and public professional profiles.
Information collected through our services
Depending on the tools used and your applicable choices, we may collect your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, downloads, referring pages, campaign identifiers, and interactions with our websites and communications.
Information from third parties
We may receive professional information from business partners, event organizers, or service providers where its collection and subsequent use are lawful.
Where we obtain personal information indirectly, we provide the information required by applicable law, including information about the source.
5. What information we process
Depending on your interaction with us, we may process:
- Contact information: name, professional email address, professional telephone number, and country.
- Professional information: employer, job title, department, responsibilities, and industry.
- Organizational information: company size, geographic markets, hotel category, number of rooms, number of properties, and hotel group affiliation.
- Registration and communication information: resources requested, subscription preferences, registration date and source, consent records, objections, and unsubscribe requests.
- Technical and engagement information: IP address, browser and device characteristics, website interactions, campaign attribution, and email engagement.
- Enriched or inferred professional information: verified employer details, professional classifications, and likely interest in hospitality topics.
Organizational information is treated as personal data where it relates to an identifiable individual.
6. Purposes and legal bases
We use personal information for the following purposes.
Delivering requested resources and administering registrations
We process the information needed to provide the resource or service you request and administer your registration.
Where processing is objectively necessary to fulfil an agreement with you, it is based on contractual necessity. Other administrative processing may be based on our legitimate interests in operating our services.
Sending professional communications
We send hospitality news, research, professional insights, invitations, and relevant commercial communications.
Professional email marketing may be based on our legitimate interests where applicable law permits it, the communication is relevant to your professional activities, and you have been informed and given an opportunity to object.
Where consent is required, we obtain it before the relevant communications are sent.
Every marketing email includes a simple way to unsubscribe.
Enriching and verifying professional information
We supplement and verify professional information to maintain accurate records, understand our audience, and improve the relevance of our communications.
This processing is based on our legitimate interests, subject to an assessment of necessity and the impact on your rights and reasonable expectations.
Personalizing content and classifying contacts
We may classify contacts by professional role, organization type, industry, or relevant interests to provide more useful professional content.
This processing is based on our legitimate interests where appropriate, subject to your applicable rights, including the right to object to direct marketing and associated profiling.
Sharing information with a resource’s publisher or sponsor
We share information with the publisher or sponsor named on the relevant registration page for professional follow-up and marketing.
The applicable legal basis and choices must be reflected in the registration process. Where permitted, sharing may be based on legitimate interests following an appropriate assessment and with an opportunity to object. Where consent is required, we obtain it before sharing information for the relevant purpose.
Analytics and advertising measurement
We use technical information to understand resource performance, website usage, and campaign effectiveness.
Consent is obtained for non-essential cookies and similar technologies where required. Other measurement activities are assessed separately according to their purpose, configuration, and applicable legal requirements.
Advertising matching and targeting
Where we use personal information to match contacts with accounts on advertising platforms or create advertising audiences, we obtain consent where required through a choice distinct from email subscription.
Other purposes
We also process information to manage events, respond to inquiries, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
These activities are based on contractual necessity, legitimate interests, or legal obligations, as appropriate to the activity.
7. Sharing with guide publishers and sponsors
When you register for or download a guide, white paper, or other sponsored resource, the publisher or sponsor identified on that resource’s registration page receives your registration information.
The information shared may include your name, professional email address, telephone number where provided, employer, job title, country, and other relevant information submitted on the form.
We may also share relevant enriched professional information, such as your professional responsibilities, hotel group affiliation, organization size, number of rooms, or number of properties.
The identified publisher or sponsor may use this information for professional sales follow-up and marketing, subject to applicable law, your applicable preferences, and its own privacy notice.
Your registration information is shared with the publisher or sponsor associated with the specific resource you requested. It is not automatically shared with sponsors of unrelated resources.
If you register for resources associated with different sponsors, each sponsor may receive information in connection with the respective registration.
Where the publisher or sponsor determines its own sales and marketing purposes, it acts as an independent data controller and is responsible for its own processing, privacy information, communications, and handling of your rights.
8. Other recipients and service providers
We may use service providers for hosting, website administration, customer relationship management, email delivery, analytics, advertising, data enrichment, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and business administration.
Providers processing information on our behalf are subject to appropriate contractual and security requirements. Some providers may act as separate data controllers for particular activities.
We may also share information with professional advisers or affiliated entities where necessary for a specified lawful purpose, or with authorities where required by law.
Meta Platforms
We may use Meta advertising tools to measure campaign performance and, where applicable, support advertising matching and targeting.
Depending on the tools and configuration used, information transmitted may include download or registration events, campaign or advertising click identifiers, browser information, and contact details in hashed form.
Hashing transforms information before transmission. Hashed contact details remain personal data where they can be matched to an individual or account; hashing does not make them anonymous.
Applicable consent choices govern consent-based transmissions. Email subscription does not automatically authorize advertising matching or targeting.
Meta’s processing is also subject to its applicable privacy information.
Google Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand website visits, navigation, resource downloads, and campaign performance.
Depending on our configuration, Google Analytics may process online identifiers, device and browser information, page views, referring sources, and interaction events.
Where consent is required, the relevant analytics technologies are used only after consent has been given. Preferences can be managed through the available consent controls.
WordPress and website infrastructure
Our websites use WordPress and associated hosting, plugins, and technical services to publish content, operate forms, and deliver resources.
Information submitted through a form may be processed by our website infrastructure and the providers supporting that form.
Installing WordPress on our own hosting does not, by itself, mean that personal information is transmitted to WordPress.com or Automattic. Any external processing depends on the services and plugins actually used.
9. Automated enrichment and artificial intelligence
We may use automated technologies, including artificial intelligence, to verify professional information, identify employers or hotel groups, determine relevant organizational characteristics, and classify contacts by professional role.
Enrichment is limited to information reasonably relevant to our professional purposes. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data through these activities.
Public availability does not remove our data protection obligations.
Automated enrichment may produce errors. You may request access to or correction of your information and exercise other applicable rights.
We do not use these activities to make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
10. International transfers
Our service providers and resource sponsors may be located outside the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use an appropriate mechanism required by the GDPR, such as an applicable adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, with additional safeguards where necessary.
A sponsor’s location and privacy notice should be available on the relevant registration page.
You may contact us for information about safeguards applying to transfers for which we are responsible.
11. Retention periods
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose.
For professional prospecting records, we generally apply a period of up to three years from collection or the last relevant interaction initiated by the individual, unless another justified period applies.
Subscription records are retained while needed to manage the subscription, subject to periodic review of inactive records.
Information temporarily queued by us for transmission to Meta is retained for the time necessary to complete that transmission, up to 30 days. This does not describe Meta’s own retention periods or the retention of separate registration and compliance records.
Technical and analytics information is retained according to the relevant tool configuration and purpose. Cookie retention information is provided through our cookie information or consent interface.
Following an unsubscribe request, we may retain limited information to respect your objection and prevent further unwanted communications.
Consent records, legal records, and information needed for claims may be retained for the applicable evidential or legal period, with restricted use.
Publishers and sponsors apply their own retention periods as described in their privacy notices.
12. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, alteration, disclosure, or misuse.
These may include access restrictions, authentication, secure communications, and contractual safeguards with service providers.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Your rights
Subject to applicable legal conditions, you may:
- Obtain information about and access to your personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request erasure or restriction of processing.
- Request data portability where applicable.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.
- Exercise applicable rights concerning automated decision-making.
You may object at any time to direct marketing, including profiling related to that marketing.
Contact [email protected] to exercise your rights.
We normally respond within one month of receiving a request. Where legally permitted, this period may be extended, and we will inform you accordingly.
We may request proportionate additional information where necessary to verify your identity.
Where required, we notify relevant recipients of rectifications, erasures, or restrictions.
14. Unsubscribing
You may unsubscribe from 10 Minutes marketing communications through the link in each email or by contacting [email protected].
Unsubscribing from 10 Minutes does not automatically unsubscribe you from communications independently managed by a publisher or sponsor.
You may unsubscribe from those communications using the sponsor’s own unsubscribe mechanism or by contacting it directly.
You may also ask us which sponsors have received your personal information.
15. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions and, where enabled, analytics and advertising.
Where required, non-essential technologies are used only after consent. You may refuse them or withdraw consent through the available controls.
Information about the technologies used, their providers, purposes, and retention periods is provided through our cookie information or consent interface.
Refusing non-essential tracking does not prevent delivery of a resource for which you have validly registered.
16. Information collected indirectly
Where we obtain personal data from public sources or third parties, we provide the information required by applicable law within the applicable timeframe.
As appropriate, this includes the categories of information, its source, our purposes and legal bases, recipients, retention criteria, and your rights.
17. Updates
We may update this page to reflect changes to our services, processing activities, or legal obligations.
The latest version is published here with its revision date.
Where required, we provide additional information or obtain a new consent before implementing relevant changes. Publishing an updated notice does not, by itself, authorize incompatible uses of previously collected information.
