Upscale Hotels Lead June RevPAR Growth at 3.44%, Economy Shows Strongest Growth at 3.78% Across Europe

📈 Upscale hotels led with a RevPAR growth of +3.44%, fueled by a 1.95% rise in ADR and near 81% occupancy. Midscale hotels posted a RevPAR of €112.48 (+3.14%) with an occupancy of 80.10% (+1.25 pts). Economy hotels saw a 3.78% RevPAR rise with a 79.46% occupancy (+1.74 pts). Super-Economy trailed with a +2.01% RevPAR growth. Hungary topped the panel with a +4.06 pts occupancy increase and +5.69% rate growth.

Wyndham Issues Notice of Default to Tian Rui, Potentially Terminating Super 8 China Agreement Covering 800 Hotels

💸 In 2004, Wyndham launched the Super 8 brand in China, managed by Tian Rui Hotel Corporation. By 2008, Aetos Capital invested $50 million to expand from 49 hotels and 4,700 rooms, with 67 more planned. However, by 2025, Wyndham defaulted Tian Rui due to license breaches. Consequently, Wyndham omitted Super 8's 68,000 rooms from its 2025 metrics. The financial impact was minor, with 2024 fees under $3 million.

Hilton Named World's Most Valuable Hotel Brand for 10th Year, Brand Value Increases 30% to $15.1 Billion

Wyndham and Choice Hotels Lead Industry Profitability with Asset-Light Models, Despite Modest Market Capitalizations

In profitability, Wyndham and Choice Hotels lead with $11 billion and $4.8 billion market capitalizations, achieving high margins due to an asset-light model. Wyndham’s EBITDA margin is 50%. Hilton ranks 2nd in market capitalization.
