Choice Hotels to almost double portfolio in France

🏨 Choice Hotels International will open 50 new Quality Suites hotels, doubling its French portfolio to 107 properties. This expansion, part of a 20-year agreement signed in April 2024 with Zenitude Groupe, adds over 4,800 rooms in France, focusing 22% of new sites in major cities. The deal continues to strengthen Choice Hotels' presence in the EMEA region, offering flexible accommodation and senior living options. All properties will join the Choice Privileges loyalty programme.

BoE holds interest rates at 4% ahead of Budget

💸 Bank of England (BoE) held interest rates at 4% on 26 November 2025. The Monetary Policy Committee voted 5-4 to maintain the rate, despite four members wanting a 0.25% cut. Inflation stood at 3.8% in September, unchanged since July, with high transport inflation. Governor Andrew Bailey noted less urgent inflation risks and potential for policy easing if disinflation persists. Chancellor Rachel Reeves aims to reduce inflation and support economic growth in the upcoming Budget.

Lamington Group secures £41.75m loan for net zero hotel in York

🏨 Lamington Group secured a £41.75m loan from Coutts Commercial for a net zero hometel in York, their first in Northern England. The 116-room Room2 York, opening spring 2027, will feature reclaimed materials, solar panels, and CO₂-controlled ventilation. Lamington aims for 5,000 UK rooms by 2030, focusing on sustainable design. As a B Corporation, it plans further Room2 sites in Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Shepherd's Bush.

Ennismore to open The Hoxton hotel in Madrid in 2026

🏨 Ennismore will open The Hoxton in Madrid's historic Plaza de Santa Ana by 2026. This 192-room hotel will be their second in Spain after Barcelona's 2022 launch. Architect Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina designed the modernist building, with refurbishment by Petra AM and Urban Input Group. Features include a coffee bar, lounge, trattoria, rooftop bar, and event space. Part of Ennismore's expansion, upcoming locations include Oslo, Kraków, and Hamburg, plus Melbourne and Nashville.

Marriott Q3 income jumps 25% to $728m amid ongoing expansion

💵 Marriott International reported a 25% increase in net income to $728 million for Q3 ending on 30 September. Operating income rose to $1.18 billion while adjusted EBITDA increased 10% to $1.35 billion. Global RevPAR grew by 0.5%, with luxury hotels seeing a 4% increase. Marriott added 17,900 net rooms, reaching over 9,700 properties and 1.75M rooms globally. The development pipeline includes 3,923 properties with 596,000 rooms, mostly outside the US and Canada.

Sono International to acquire Cross Hotels and Resorts

Chief Executive Harry Thaliwal emphasizes the partnership's potential for sustainable growth and enhanced offerings across key markets.

Pandox reports higher Q3 earnings ahead of Dalata deal completion

💰 Pandox AB reported a Q3 profit of SEK 637m (£50m) and EBITDA of SEK 1.2bn (£95m), rebounding from a SEK 39m (£3.1m) loss last year. Total revenues rose 5%, with lease revenues up 2% and hotel operations up 10%. Cash earnings reached SEK 617m (£49m). The Dalata acquisition, valued at SEK 16.7bn (£1.32bn), adds 31 properties and projects SEK 1.2bn (£95m) annual rental income. Completion is expected in Q4 2025.

Autograph Collection Hotels debuts first Maldives resort

🌍 Autograph Collection Hotels has launched The Halcyon Private Isles, its first Maldives property, located on Gaafu Alifu Atoll, 90 minutes by seaplane from Malé. The resort features 38 villas (220-1,250 sqm) with private pools. Dining and wellness options include an overwater spa and various restaurants. Guests have access to a personal "Halcyon Butler" for tailored experiences. Part of Marriott's portfolio, Autograph Collection includes over 300 hotels worldwide.

Regional hotel network launched for Coventry and Warwickshire

Motril mansion hotel from Rivals series up for €5.3m sale

🏠 Casa de los Bates, built in 1898 by José Jiménez Caballero in Motril, Granada, is up for sale at €5.3m (£4.6m) with plans to expand from a nine-suite hotel to a 70-room venue. The Italian-style mansion spans two hectares, featuring gardens and orchards. Located 34 miles from Granada airport, it was a filming site for Disney+ and named a top European guest house. Motril is also planning new tourism developments, including a marina and golf course.
