Vilnius Dresses its Sculptures in Cozy Knits for Holiday Season

🎄 In Vilnius, Lithuania, the city’s monuments are dressed in hand-knitted holiday attire for Christmas. The initiative, by Go Vilnius, includes 10 local knitters using eco-friendly materials to create festive clothing for statues. Highlights include the Grand Duke Gediminas Monument and the Užupis Angel, along with others like the Lithuanian writer Žemaitė and a sculpture inspired by Jurga Ivanauskaitė. An interactive Vilnius Christmas Map guides visitors to these attractions. Vilnius has been named European Christmas Capital 2025 by the Christmas Cities Network.

The partnership also made Ascott the 'official global hotels partner' for Chelsea FC, offering Ascott Star Rewards members unique experiences and enhancing Ascott's presence in London. Ascott operates in over 230 cities across more than 40 countries.

Hotel recruits psychology student as trainee chef

The training program partners with Kendal College offering Level 2 Commis Chef and Level 3 Chef de Partie qualifications. Bardon enjoys the team environment and living on the estate's 72-acre woodland, engaging in hiking and photography. English Lakes Hotels is hiring for various positions.

Second Charitable Endeavour Award winners announced at FEA conference

🏆 The Charitable Endeavour Awards at the FEA conference on November 20 recognized extraordinary charitable support in the foodservice and hospitality sectors. Unox won the company category, raising £22,000 for the Burnt Chef Project with a 150kg combi oven carried to Ben Nevis. Lockhart Catering Equipment won the team category by cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours, raising £7,725 for Duchenne muscular dystrophy research. Marc Sumner, who organized the Feast FC football match, won the group category, raising £3,000 for the Milly-Rose Stirrup Foundation. Andy Kershaw won the individual award by raising £14,000 for the Marston’s Charitable Foundation and The Sam Myatt Memorial through a London to Paris bike ride.
