Dusit International Opens First Hotel in Japan with WE Hotel Toya, Dusit Collection in Hokkaido

🏨 Dusit International opened the WE Hotel Toya, Dusit Collection in Hokkaido, Japan—its first hotel in the country. Located on Lake Tōya within the Toya-Usu UNESCO Global Geopark, it is 100 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport. Originally designed in 2018 by Kengo Kuma & Associates, the hotel boasts 55 lake-view guestrooms and three villas, each with private open-air baths. The newly rebranded dining options include EZO Cuisine, The Noodle Bar, TARU Bar, and Toya Bar.

IHG to Expand All Luxury & Lifestyle Brands to Saudi Arabia by 2028, Bolstering Vision 2030 Goals

Notably, Six Senses Southern Dunes opened in December 2023, with more openings slated for 2026-2028. IHG opened its Riyadh office in 2023, fortifying its 50-year legacy in the region.

Blacksand and Marriott to Develop 10 Hotels in Saudi Arabia by 2027, Adding Over 1,300 Rooms

Drury Hotels Begins Construction on 180-Room Drury Plaza Hotel in Daytona Beach, Florida, Opening in June 2027

IHG Signs Kimpton Hotel in Madrid's Salamanca, Opening 2030 in Partnership with El Corte Inglés

The 106-key hotel will feature a ground-floor restaurant, spa, indoor pool, and rooftop bar. In 2025, Madrid's tourism hit €17.9 billion, a 71% increase from 2019. IHG has 116 open and 68 pipeline luxury/lifestyle properties in Europe and 66 open with 16 in the pipeline in Spain.

🏔 Developed by Stockman Development LLC, The Stockman, Auberge Collection, is a luxury ski-in, ski-out residence at Steamboat Resort, Colorado. Within 60 days of launch, over $90 million in sales were contracted. The nine-story building will feature 95 residences and 59 hotel rooms at 1965 Ski Time Square Drive, opening in 2030. Designed by OZ Architecture with sustainable features, the project aligns with Steamboat Resort's $220 million Full Steam Ahead initiative.

Pyramid Global Hospitality Assumes Management of South Seas Resort in Captiva, Florida, Overseeing Full Operations

IHG Signs First Hotel Indigo in Sweden with 232 Rooms, Opening in Stockholm's Kvarnholmen by 2029

🏨 IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed with Kvarnholmen Utveckling to open Hotel Indigo Stockholm – Kvarnholmen, Sweden's first Hotel Indigo. Located in Nacka, Stockholm, it will feature 232 rooms, a rooftop pool, and wellness facilities. Opening in 2029, and operated by 1912 Hotels, the hotel spans 150 square meters of meeting space. IHG aims to expand in the Nordics, adding to its 13 properties there. Hotel Indigo boasts over 325 hotels in nearly 50 countries.
