This vibrant mix is vanishing due to the rise of ultra-luxury hotels in the past decade. These establishments cater to a homogenous clientele, leading to a loss of the unique and spontaneous energy that characterized earlier 20th-century hotel scenes.

🏨 Hotel Equities announced management of three properties: TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Woodstock, Ontario, opened March 26, 2026, near the Toyota plant; Reflections Hotel, Ascend Collection in Kissimmee, Florida, set to open fall 2026 near Walt Disney World; and Courtyard by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/Irving in Texas, recently renovated, expanding their Dallas-Fort Worth presence to seven properties. Each location targets corporate and leisure markets.

🏨 St Ermin’s Hotel reopens its redesigned outdoor terrace on 28 April 2026, in partnership with Louis Pommery English sparkling wine. Located in the courtyard, it coincides with the Chelsea Flower Show. The terrace offers a new sushi menu with English sparkling wines and cocktails featuring honey from the hotel’s bee terrace. The 331-room, Grade II-listed hotel, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, will host a weekly wine hour with artisan cheese and charcuterie tastings.

🍺 Mayfair: The JW Marriott Grosvenor House London has revamped its JW Steakhouse and Bourbon Bar with a multimillion-pound refurbishment. Spearheaded by Executive Chef Patrick O'Sullivan since 2025, the menu features classic American steakhouse dishes, including over 40,000 servings of JW Cheesecake annually. With 500+ rare bourbons, the bar offers exclusive bottles, tastings, and masterclasses. Throughout 2026, themed menus and events will enhance the dining experience, reflecting the venue's American roots and heritage.

📍 Hilton Los Angeles Airport completed a $50 million renovation of its 1,234 guest rooms, located under a mile from LAX. The redesign features minimalist, mid-century styles with new layouts, premium mattresses, and upgraded amenities. The hotel remained operational during the renovation. It offers 55,000 square feet of meeting space and easy airport access. Jeff Ragonese, the general manager, highlighted the hotel's role as a leading destination amidst Los Angeles' growing global attention.

🏨 GFI Capital Resources and Hyatt Hotels completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of Hotel Seville NoMad, located at 22 East 29th Street in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood. Originally opened in 1903, the 348-room building now features redesigned rooms, a new lobby bar by Thomas Juul-Hansen, and dining options like Scarpetta. Event space includes a 2,400-sq-ft ballroom, with facilities supported by LDV Hospitality. The hotel is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

🏨 Resolute Road Hospitality has partnered with Mercury Hospitality to manage the 119-suite Springhill Suites Boise West/Eagle in Boise, Idaho. The hotel, acquired by Mercury Hospitality, features amenities like separate living/sleeping areas, workspaces, a fitness center, meeting space, and complimentary breakfast. The location offers easy access to Boise's downtown, major employers, and recreation. This agreement aims to enhance performance and asset value in the growing Treasure Valley market.

🏨 Small Luxury Hotels of the World added 29 new members in early 2026, surpassing 700 properties across 100 countries. The Grace Hotel in Ireland, Casa Caprile in Italy, and Eight Venezia in Italy are opening in spring and July 2026. Rhino and River Wildlife Retreat in India and Le 3 in France also opened recently. New destinations include Key West with four hotels, Santa Monica, Palm Springs, Indonesia's Riau Islands, Brno, and Avila.
