U.K. hotel investment surges to £3B in H1 2024: Knight Frank
🏨 U.K. hotel investments surged to £3 billion ($3.79 billion) in H1 2024, up from £990 million ($1,251 million) in H1 2023. Major deals include Blackstone’s £850 million purchase of Village Leisure, Starwood’s £800 million acquisition of Radisson Edwardian Hotels, and Landsec’s £400 million sale advised by Knight Frank. London attracted 70% of H1 investments, with U.S. investors dominating at 77%. Portfolio transactions accounted for 76% of total volume, a rise from 53% in H1 2019. Knight Frank anticipates a positive outlook and strong H2 with more hotel portfolios expected to sell. U.K. leads Europe with 321 new hotel projects/45,257 rooms in the pipeline by Q1 2024.
