Marking a decade of success with record hiring and strong European investment

FINLAND, 24 FEBRUARY — Hostaway, the leading vacation rental property management software, continues its meteoric rise in the travel tech industry, having more than doubled its workforce in the past two years.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, the company is marking the milestone with continued expansion, reinforcing its European roots while hiring at scale across multiple continents.

Backed by a record-breaking US$365 million funding round secured in December — the largest ever in the short-term rental space — Hostaway is investing heavily in AI technology and strengthening its all-in-one platform, which STR operators rely on to manage and grow their businesses in more than 100 markets. This investment also established Hostaway as the highest-valued vacation rental software company.

A key driver of this success is Hostaway’s remote-first work model, which eliminates geographical barriers to hiring and enables the company to recruit top talent worldwide. Today, its team spans 44 countries, combining local expertise with a global perspective to develop technology that meets the diverse needs of property managers across different markets.

In the past year alone, the company received over 52,000 job applications, averaging more than 1,000 new candidates applying each week. While Hostaway is hiring globally—including North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Australia—half of this year’s new hires have been in and will continue to be in Europe, reinforcing its commitment to investing in its home continent.

This focus is reflected in the appointment of a new Sales Director for Europe, alongside engineering and customer success hires, in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Germany to name a few. Strengthening local expertise is key to adapting Hostaway’s platform to regional challenges and compliance requirements, ensuring it remains the go-to solution for STR operators navigating diverse market needs worldwide.

Hostaway was also recently named one of G2’s Top 100 Fastest-Growing Software Companies, a recognition based on authentic reviews from STR property managers who trust the platform to power their businesses.

However, Hostaway’s expansion isn’t just about numbers — it’s about building a company where everyone has a stake in its success. Unlike many fast-scaling tech companies, Hostaway offers every employee equity in the business, no matter their role or where they are based. This commitment fosters alignment, ownership, and long-term dedication across its globally distributed team.

Alongside its growing workforce, Hostaway is doubling down on technology and product development. Its engineering teams — spread across multiple time zones — are working on a powerful AI-driven product set to launch later this year.

Marcus Rader, CEO and Founder of Hostaway, said: “Hostaway is growing faster than ever. In just two years, we’ve more than doubled our team, expanded across continents, and secured the largest funding round in vacation rental history. But we’re just getting started. As we celebrate 10 years of success, we’re building on this momentum to scale even further, driving innovation and expanding our impact in the STR industry.

With a remote-first model, we’re bringing together the brightest minds in the industry, no matter where they are, to drive innovation and push the boundaries of what’s possible in STR technology. We’re not just hiring for the sake of growth, we’re investing in people who will help redefine the future of this industry. With our world-class engineering teams leading the way, we’re developing cutting-edge solutions that will empower property managers everywhere to run more efficient, profitable businesses. AI-driven technology and best-in-class support is the future of STR management, and we’re building it now.”

Headquartered in Finland, Hostaway provides vacation rental property managers with an all-in-one platform to automate operations and scale their businesses.
