Onsai Secures Over €1 Million in Growth Capital to Deploy Autonomous AI in the Hotel Industry

Leipzig, August 28, 2025 –Leipzig-based startup Onsai has secured over €1 million in growth capital to further scale their AI Solution for the Hospitality industry. The Hospitality industry is facing a severe labor shortage, with 84% of hotels affected and 53% of guests already noticing the impact. Onsai AI Agents help hotels to streamline guest communication, automate repetitive tasks and support the staff in their daily operations.

Former Hoteliers and Harvard Alumni Develop AI Employee for Hotels

In Hotels, Front-office and guest service operations are under the greatest strain, exactly where service quality and guest satisfaction are most visible. This is where Onsai GmbH makes the difference with their AI Agents. Founded by former hoteliers and hospitality technology specialists Ralf Bonin, Christian Mueller, and Tobias Koehler, together with AI expert Jochen Emig, Onsai has developed an autonomous AI employee that answers calls, takes reservations requests and books directly into hotel systems, and independently handles day-to-day challenges.

“I’ve stood at reception myself when the phone rang non-stop while guests wanted to check in simultaneously,” recalls COO Ralf Bonin. “Our AI now handles exactly these tasks – around the clock, in multiple languages, without getting sick or needing vacation.”

Capital for Growth and Market Expansion

The current funding round is led by the VC Fonds SIVentures from Leipzig, with participation from prominent business angels from the technology and hospitality sectors. Investors include renowned industry experts Willem van der Zee, Director of Operations at Pandox, and Wolfgang M. Neumann, entrepreneur and former CEO of Radisson as well as President Europe & Africa at Hilton. The funds will be strategically deployed for product portfolio development, international market expansion, team strengthening, and integration of additional hotel systems.

“This investment is far more than just capital – it’s a vote of confidence from partners who recognize the potential of our solution and want to advance the digital employee for the hospitality industry together with us,” says Onsai CEO Jochen Emig.

Industry in Transformation

A recent study by Prof. Roland Schegg reveals that only 41% of European hotels actively use AI. The main driver is acute staff shortage: AI is evolving from a “nice to have” to a strategic necessity for securing service quality and competitiveness.

“The hospitality industry still significantly lags in practical AI implementation, despite enormous demand,” explains Wolfgang M. Neumann, former Radisson CEO. “Onsai closes exactly this gap – with a solution that is not only technically sophisticated but also understands the real challenges of the industry. This is the digitalization boost our industry urgently needs.”

Over the next 12 months, Onsai plans to integrate multiple hotel systems, further penetrate the global market, and release additional useful AI agents for the hospitality industry.

About Onsai

Onsai develops the digital employee for the hospitality industry – powered by AI. Founded in 2024 in Leipzig by Jochen Emig, Ralf Bonin, Christian Müller, and Tobias Koehler, the company revolutionizes hospitality with AI that doesn’t just respond but acts autonomously. The Voice-First Technology automates over 70% of all calls, manages reservations in real-time, and seamlessly integrates with PMS and telephone systems. With EU hosting and individual brand customization, hotel groups like McDreams Hotels and serviced apartment groups like Homaris already trust Onsai’s solution, which reduces operational costs by one-third and relieves staff burden.
