  • Amy Frearson
  • 7 January 2025
🏠 The House Special Studio, led by Greek architect Kiki Goti and French filmmaker Vincent Staropoli, renovated a Paris apartment reflecting 1970s style for an NGO worker who spends much time abroad. The project, finished in 2025, utilized a palette of nostalgic shades and aimed to create an authentic atmosphere with distinct zones within the compact space. Restored chevron parquet flooring and beige tiles from Barro add to the design, along with a 1970s Brazilian coffee table and vintage furniture.

🏡 Kirsten Visdal showcased Norwegian design in Paris's Musée d'Orsay's former smoking room, Le Fumoir, for three days. The exhibition, Et Hjem/Chez Soi, featured contemporary and classic Norwegian furniture and objects from designers like Ali Shah Gallefoss and Andreas Engesvik. Sullivan’s Fish Camp designed so “guests can’t be sure if it’s 1982 or 2024”

  • Amy Frearson
  • 22 July 2024
🎨 SDCO and Basic Projects revamped Sullivan's Fish Camp, a family-owned diner since 1988 in Charleston, blending contemporary and retro designs to reflect its history. Amy Pastre and Courtney Rowson of SDCO joined with Kate and Ben Towill of Basic Projects to create a visual identity encompassing bold typography, illustrations, and vintage art. The space features commissioned fish illustrations by Duane Raver and marine-grade finished furnishings to withstand beachgoer wear and tear. The design overhaul also extended to merchandise and tableware, with a product range including key chains, hats, and T-shirts. Sullivan's Fish Camp stands as a landmark among Charleston's growing creative scene, complete with a walk-up ice cream window and marine-themed memorabilia.
