London Hotel Room Rates Increase by 8% in June Despite Flat Profit Margins Due to Rising Costs

  • Corina Duma
  • 13 August 2026
📈 London hoteliers increased room rates by 8% year-on-year in June 2023, reaching £262.08 per room, driven by strong demand and favorable weather. However, occupancy dropped from 87.5% to 84.9%. Profit margins remained unchanged at 46.7% in London but slightly increased to 42.2% across the UK. Rising costs hindered profitability despite the price hike. In July 2024, London hotel occupancy rose to 89.3%, boosting margins to 49%. By June 2025, margins fell to 47.8% due to increased payroll costs.
