Minor Hotels Reports 2% Increase in Q2 Core Profits to THB 2.8bn, Driven by Europe and Americas Growth

📈 Minor Hotels saw a 2% increase in Q2 2026 core profits to THB 2.8bn (£63m) and a 1% rise in core revenue to THB 35.8bn (£802m). Group RevPAR remained stable, with a 1% increase in daily rates balancing a 1% occupancy drop to 68%. Core revenues grew 3% in H1 2026, but core profits declined 4% to THB 2.2bn (£49.3m). The company signed 29 hotel agreements and opened 11 hotels in H1, including debuts in the U.S. and Turkey.

🏨 Collector’s Hall at AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow has hosted 10,478 guests across 242 events over the past year inside the restored former Glasgow Parish Council headquarters. The venue, constructed in 1902, witnessed 20 weddings, 203 corporate events, and more. Upcoming bookings for 2027 include 77 weddings. The hall, part of the £100m Love Loan development, achieved over 5% profit ahead of forecast with the hotel selling 59,000 room nights.

UKHospitality Urges Response to Government Consultation on Zero Hours Contracts Changes Before 25 August Deadline

The Employment Rights Act changes would mandate businesses to offer guaranteed hours, give notice for shifts, and pay for cancellations. The eligibility threshold proposed is eight hours a week, with reference periods of 26 or 52 weeks. The sector faces a £3.4 billion cost increase annually.

Sunset Hospitality Group Expands to 112 Destinations with 12 New Venue Agreements Across 27 Countries

StudioStays Acquires 77-Bedroom Langham Hotel in Eastbourne for Undisclosed Sum, Guide Price £3.7M

Former owners Neil and Wendy Kirby, retiring after 21 years, expressed gratitude to their staff and loyal patrons. The sale was completed for an undisclosed sum.
