🏨 In Huddersfield, The George Hotel, a Grade II listed building and birthplace of rugby league in 1895, will reopen under Radisson Hotel Group. Purchased by Kirklees Council in 2020, renovations costing £30 million start next month. The hotel, vacant since 2013, will feature 108 rooms, a restaurant, bar, gym, and conference facilities. Part of the Huddersfield Blueprint, this revitalization aims to enhance the town center and boost the local economy.
