🏨 Travelodge opened a new 130-room hotel in Bradford South, UK, targeting both business and leisure travelers. The Bradford South Travelodge is situated between Bradford and Leeds, near cultural sites and the Bartercard Odsal Stadium, as well as transport links like the M62 motorway and Leeds Bradford International Airport. The company operates over 600 hotels and plans to expand by 300 new locations in 2023, with 19 in the North West region, intensifying its UK presence.

🏙 Zélia Halkidiki, an adults-only luxury resort in Greece under Hyatt’s Destination by Hyatt brand, is 50 minutes from Thessaloniki International Airport and 25 minutes from Nea Moudania. It boasts 104 guestrooms, 18 suites, and offers gourmet dining with award-winning Chef Vassili Papatheodorou, including Mediterranean dishes at Mesogaea, Japanese-Peruvian fusion at Shizen, and farm-to-table at Syntrofi. Amenities include the Zélia Amazonia Spa, fitness hub, two outdoor pools, beach access, hiking routes, e-bike tours, and kayaking. A second Hyatt hotel is set to open in Paros next year.

🏨 Wyndham Hotels & Resorts partners with Soliteight Hotel Projects SA to launch Super 8 brand in Spain and Portugal, with plans to open 40 hotels by 2033. The first Super 8 hotel will debut in Leiria, Portugal, in Q4 2027. The expansion responds to the Iberian region's tourism boom, with Spain recording 94 million international visitors in 2024 and a surge in demand for economy lodging. Super 8's entry addresses a 10% gap in budget hotel branding in Iberia, despite a 142% increase in RevPAR since 2019.

🍴 Osteria Angelina, a new pasta and grill restaurant by the Angelina, Dalston team, opens on May 20th in Norton Folgate. Pre-opening vouchers offer dining at double the purchase value, with a chance to win a year of free dining. The founders, Joshua Owens-Baigler, Amar Takhar, and Laura Horta, unveil a large, converted warehouse space on the border of Spitalfields, Shoreditch, and the City. Executive chef Usman Haider presents a relaxed à la carte menu with fresh pastas with a Japanese twist and 'big cut' Binchotan grill dishes. The menu includes eight regularly changing fresh pastas, Binchotan fired grill cuts for sharing, and more than 300 Italian wines plus a selection of Sake and cocktails. The 75-cover restaurant features an open kitchen, chef counter, table seating, bespoke tableware, furniture by Anna Owens Designs, and a private dining room for up to 18 guests. Bookings are now open.

🍴 The Stratford, an East London hotel, debuts Kokin, a Japanese fire-led, omakase-style restaurant by Chef Daisuke Shimoyama, on May 1, 2025. Located on the hotel's seventh floor, Kokin features a 140-seat dining area, two terraces, and a sushi bar. The design-led hotel, part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, is near Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Kokin emphasizes seasonality, tradition, and a zero-waste ethos with dishes like Woodfire x Charcoal Grilled Turbot and sustainable bluefin tuna from Spanish and Portuguese waters. 🏨 Room Mate Hotels enters Switzerland with the first hotel in Geneva, purchasing the 104-room Hotel Marmont near Rue du Rhône, set to open in early 2026 after refurbishment. In 2024, Room Mate reported €128.5 million in revenue, a 23% increase from the previous year, with €150 million projected for 2025. Over 1.22 million guests were hosted, with an occupancy rate over 86%. The company expands in Europe with 33 hotels across 15 cities, planning further expansion in cities like Lisbon and Paris.

🏡 Accor opened the Mercure Ponta Delgada Azores in Ponta Delgada, Portugal, situated in the historic Pensão Central building. The hotel features 75 rooms, two outdoor pools, a spa, and meeting facilities for 60 guests. Aiming for an authentic Azorean experience, Accor’s property includes the Bruma Bar with local cuisine and curated insider recommendations like visiting the Porto Formoso Tea Factory. Celebrating Mercure’s 50th anniversary in 2023, Accor now has 38 properties in Portugal and plans to surpass 1,000 hotels globally by 2024.

🏫 Blenheim Palace is undergoing a £12 million restoration over 2 years, with bookings for events and weddings contributing to the effort.
