🍷 Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Distillery in Wooler, Northumberland, launches Bēodern for evening dining on 21st March 2025, marking its second anniversary. Head Chef Olivier Borja, with 30+ years of experience including Michelin-starred restaurants, introduces an a la carte menu featuring local ingredients, like Homemade Game Terrine and Mackerel Escabeche. Bēodern sources from local suppliers such as Particularly Good Potatoes and Doddington Dairy. It offers dinner Thursday to Saturday, and lunch daily, including a standout Sunday Lunch. Reservations are now open.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts opens its first hotel in Japan

🏖 Rosewood Hotels & Resorts launched Rosewood Miyakojima in Japan, presenting 55 rooms and four dining options, including NAGI and MAAS restaurants. The resort highlights Ryukyu culture with local materials like Ryukyu limestone and offers an infinity pool, Asaya Spa treatments, and martial arts lessons. Studio Piet Boon designed the property, emphasizing harmony with the local environment. Later in 2025, CHOMA restaurant will open, serving traditional Japanese cuisine. Families can engage in Rose Buds and Rosewood Explorers programs for cultural activities.

Fritz’s Adventure plans a location in The Colony, Texas

The original Fritz’s Adventure opened in 2016 and the new site continues the spirit of adventure and family fun.

Madrid’s The Westin Palace reopens under Marriott’s Luxury Collection

Radisson Hotel Group to open The Medlock at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus

Under Radisson Blu, it will cater to sports fans, concertgoers, and business travelers near Etihad Stadium and Co-op Live, the UK's largest indoor arena. It will feature suites, deluxe rooms, a luxury penthouse, dining options, a roof walk, museum experience, and office space. Valor Hospitality will operate The Medlock, joining Radisson's global portfolio of 1,520 hotels.

[Update] SLS Barcelona gears up for opening

🏠 In April 2025, SLS Hotels & Residences will debut its first European property, SLS Barcelona, in the Port Fòrum district. The design, by AIME Studios, Avroko, and Rockwell Group, mimics Mediterranean waves. The hotel offers 471 rooms and suites with private balconies or terraces. It introduces six dining and nightlife venues, including an all-day restaurant, tapas bar, rooftop pool bar, cocktail bar, lobby bar, and exclusive pool bar. An 800m² ballroom, eight event spaces, and dedicated events lobby cater to various events. Guests can enjoy three pools, wellness center, and an upcoming luxury spa. SLS Barcelona is near cultural highlights like the Primavera Sound festival.

Marriott International achieves record growth in 2024 across EMEA

🏨 Marriott International celebrated a milestone year in 2024, achieving 291 hotel signings across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), leading to a 7% net increase in rooms. Notable properties include Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn in Europe, expansions by Luxury Collection Hotels in Munich and Nice, Moxy Hotels entering Spain and Luxembourg, and W Prague. The EMEA development pipeline reached 596 properties with 104,731 rooms, a 10% growth from the previous year, with 45% of new signings as conversions. Over 80 hotels are in the luxury segment pipeline, including 26 new luxury hotel contracts, 50 signings for Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, and Marriott Hotels, and 39 in the select segment. The company's residential portfolio in EMEA grew to 72 locations with 11 new branded residential projects. Marriott debuted in Angola and Senegal, and introduced the Ritz-Carlton Reserve to Saudi Arabia.

Bahama’s The Cove Eleuthera completes renovation

🏖 The Cove Eleuthera in the Bahamas, owned by Tanzerra Resorts, completed a full-property renovation in late 2024. The final Phase III included updates to the infinity pool terrace, dining and lounge areas, a fire pit, beachfront furnishings, landscaping, and pathways. Two new communal areas were introduced: a library and an entry pergola. BAR Architects & Interiors led the renovation, with the resort now encompassing 40 acres and offering 22 rooms, between two private beach coves, all emphasizing tranquility and island living.

Mondrian to debut in the Maldives

Initially operating as Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa, the transition retains bookings on ALL.com and Accor’s loyalty program ALL. The Palace Madrid joins The Luxury Collection after restoration

Originally The Westin Palace, Madrid, it retains its 1912 heritage with an 8,000-square-meter façade renovated by Ruiz Larrea Arquitectura. The stained-glass dome with 1,875 panels by Eduardo Ferrés i Puig and the lobby's glass palm-tree chandelier are restored. The hotel has 470 rooms and suites, dining at La Cúpula under the dome, featuring dishes named after famous guests, and the 27 Club cocktail bar, inspired by the Generation of 27 literary movement. Marriott Bonvoy® members gain access to exclusive benefits at the hotel, located in the UNESCO-listed Barrio de las Letras, close to cultural sites like the Prado Museum and Retiro Park.
