🏨 KE Hotels acquired The Queen Hotel Cheltenham from Sutton Hotel Collection in 2025. This is KE Hotels' fifth UK property, featuring 84 bedrooms in a Grade II-listed building on a 1.13-acre site in Cheltenham town center. Savills facilitated the sale, reflecting a trend in single asset transactions, which reached £1.35 billion in H1 2025, an 8.4% increase from the previous year. KE Hotels also owns properties in Newcastle, Oxford, Manchester, and California.

🏨 Jul 24, 2025: Marriott International finalized its $355 million acquisition of CitizenM, adding 37 hotels and over 8,700 rooms. With this move, Marriott enhances its lifestyle portfolio amidst potential brand overlap concerns. Integration challenges loom, but Marriott plans to assimilate CitizenM into its systems by year-end. CitizenM's subscription program remains active pending future updates. This acquisition aligns with Marriott’s strategy to grow its select-service lifestyle brands, despite experts' warnings about maintaining brand uniqueness.

🏢 Las Vegas Sands has started construction on an $8 billion ultra-luxury resort in Singapore. Attending the event were Singapore’s Prime Minister, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, and Dr. Miriam Adelson. The project includes a 570-suite hotel, 15,000-seat arena, and 200,000 square feet of meeting space, with design by Moshe Safdie. The resort, expected to elevate luxury tourism in Singapore, features a 76,000-square-foot Skyloop, and sustainability elements like self-shading façades and recycled materials.

🏨 JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group announced the $111-million sale of Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa, a 570-acre luxury property in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, to Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality, Inc. The resort offers 105 rooms, the largest network of thermal springs, and a recently opened Choyin Rio Termal. Located at Arenal volcano's base, it features rooms from 376 to 2,530 square feet. JLL has completed $83 billion in global transactions over five years.
