Mentors like Bo Schmitz, Mark Xenophon, Chris Knapton, and Tommy Holmes played pivotal roles. Women in hospitality showed progress in leadership by 2025, especially at the general manager level. However, director and executive roles still lag. In 2026 and beyond, diversity, inclusion, and leadership accountability in hospitality are vital for sustainable change.

U.S. Travel Industry Urges Legislation to Ensure Pay for TSA and FAA Workers During Shutdowns

TSA officers earn about $35,000 annually, screening nearly a billion passengers. A past 43-day shutdown delayed/canceled 9,000 flights, impacting six million travelers and costing $6.1 billion. The travel industry supports over 15 million jobs, contributing $2.9 trillion annually.

San Francisco Hotels Lead U.S. Performance with 35.3% RevPAR Increase as New Orleans, Las Vegas Face Declines

🏨 February 22-28, 2026, U.S. hotel performance showed nearly flat year-over-year changes: occupancy at 62.8%, ADR at $159.03, and RevPAR at $99.85. New York City's occupancy decreased by 12.6%, while Las Vegas saw a 12% occupancy drop, ADR down 26.9%, and RevPAR down 35.7%. San Francisco reported gains with occupancy up 20.3% and RevPAR up 35.3%.
