Buzzworks Acquires 170-Year-Old Douglas Hotel on Isle of Arran, Plans 2027 Reopening After Refurbishment

🏨 Buzzworks plans to acquire the Douglas Hotel on the Isle of Arran in mid-July 2026. Located on Brodick seafront, this 170-year-old venue will remain open through summer before closing for refurbishment in autumn. Reopening is set for spring 2027, featuring a pub, restaurant, and 21 rooms. Acclaimed designer Jim Hamilton will lead the redesign. Buzzworks, operating 23 Scottish venues, aims to expand its Ayrshire coast presence, integrating existing hotel employees.
