La escapada de Andy Byron y Kristin Cabot, retransmitida al mundo entero por la kiss-cam de Coldplay, parecía un reality show que se había quedado colgado. Julio de 2025, Boston: el CEO de Astronomer y su directora de RR. HH. rodeados de sonrisas incómodas, mientras incluso el peor imitador de Bono de la historia se sentía autorizado a filosofar desde el escenario: “O están engañando… o simplemente son muy tímidos.”

A partir de ahí, estalla el carnaval digital. Comunicados de prensa que nadie escribió. Tweets con citas que nunca existieron. Publicaciones virales asegurando que la banda estaba considerando “zonas sin cámaras” en sus conciertos. Todo falso, por supuesto.

Entonces, ¿por qué millones se lo creyeron?

Porque necesitamos moralizar. Juzgar. Restaurar un orden simbólico, aunque sea ficticio, siempre que resulte tranquilizador. El CEO culpable es perfecto: mucho poder, mucho castigo. Lo odias porque te recuerda lo que no eres. Y porque su debilidad te da una excusa para seguir siendo mediocre.

¿La verdad? Byron puede ser un pésimo compañero sentimental y un gran CEO. O al revés. O ambas cosas, porque no tenemos ni idea de qué tipo de acuerdo o relación tiene con su esposa. Y no es asunto nuestro.

Sinceramente, lo único que me molesta de toda esta historia es la banda sonora. Porque, seamos claros: Coldplay son una mierda.
