The hotel industry news you actually need, in about ten minutes. No clickbait, no breathless “breaking” alerts, just what’s moving the market and why it matters to your hotel.
How it started
10 Minutes Hotel News was dreamed up in a hotel in Florida by two people who had spent most of their careers marketing hotels and hotel technology: Martin Soler and Tony Loeb. The question was simple: why is it so hard for a busy hotelier to get a calm, useful overview of the industry? The first edition went out in 2023, at 2 AM, thanks to a time-zone mix-up. We’ve been better at scheduling since.
It started in France as 10 Minutes pour un Hôtelier, then grew into editions for Spain, Italy and this International edition. Each one is built on local sources for local hoteliers.
What we do
We read a lot so you don’t have to. Every edition brings together the best of what’s published across reputable news outlets, practical advice from hotel vendors of every kind, tech or otherwise, and strategic thinking from leading consultants. We link straight back to the original source every time. We pick for usefulness, not noise: market direction, data, trends and things you can act on.

Why a newsletter?
Because hoteliers don’t need another app pinging them at midnight. A newsletter is simple, reads on your own schedule (even offline), and respects the pace of a working hotel. Read it with your morning coffee, between check-ins, or not at all this week. We won’t take it personally.
Our columnists
Alongside the curated news, we publish original columns from people who’ve been in the trenches:
- Mark Fancourt: 30+ years in hospitality technology, co-founder of TRAVHOTECH. Life is so tech.
- Simone Puorto: techno-philosopher, founder of Travel Singularity, author of the weekly “Rebel Yell”.
- Martin Soler: co-founder, and occasional columnist on marketing, AI and hotel tech.
The founders
Martin Soler started on the night shift as a night auditor, ran two boutique hotels in Paris, then spent years in hotel-tech marketing at WIHP and SnapShot before founding Soler & Associates. He also writes the Tell newsletter. LinkedIn
Tony Loeb built websites for hundreds of hotels, was a partner at WIHP from day one, then co-founded Experience, the French leader in hotel CRM. He hosts the podcast 10 min pour un hôtelier. LinkedIn
