Ruby Hotels expands to Athens with first property in 2027

🏨 Ruby Hotels and Primetown Development are partnering on a €20m development near Omonia Square, Athens. The project spans 3,200 m² and features a 24/7 bar, breakfast area, rooftop with panoramic views, and pool terrace. This new addition aligns with IHG's strategy, following their acquisition of Ruby in 2025, expanding their presence with ten Greek properties. Ruby's Southern Europe expansion continues with new projects in Italy, including the upcoming Rome hotel opening in spring 2025.

How Indigo Road’s O-Ku builds customer loyalty with gift-giving program

🍴 O-Ku, a 15-year-old concept by Indigo Road Hospitality, surprises loyal customers with gifts in cities like Charleston, Nashville, and Alys Beach. Known for quality sushi, they use OpenTable to identify celebratory dinners for gift-giving. Chef Masatomo “Masa” Hamaya created the popular Masa-racha sauce. O-Ku offers custom sushi boards for private events, fostering community partnerships. Locations include Alys Beach, Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Greenville, Jacksonville Beach, Nashville, Raleigh, and Washington, D.C.

🏨 Garner Hotels debuts in Scotland with the opening of Garner Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket, a 195-room property in Edinburgh’s West End, near key landmarks like Haymarket Station and Edinburgh Castle. Launching during Edinburgh's festival season, it offers affordable, comfortable accommodation. For a limited time, £1 per guest stay is donated to Action Against Hunger. Garner Hotels, launched in 2023, now has 23 properties open and 94 in development.

Hilton opens The Marcus in Portrush, expanding Tapestry Collection in Northern Ireland

🏨 The Marcus Portrush, a newly renovated 80-room hotel in Northern Ireland, opened after an £11 million transformation of a Victorian building. Opened ahead of the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush, it includes an Asian fusion restaurant and Heritage Cocktail Bar. The hotel is expected to generate £1.1 million annually for the local economy and create over 40 jobs. It's part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection, which is expanding in Europe.

The restaurant, previously MJP @ The Shepherds, will offer a tasting-only menu with 3, 5, or 7 courses. Mark, who recently earned a Michelin star for Caistor Hall, aims for minimal waste and employee satisfaction with a four-day work week. The 34-seat venue includes a refurbished pub and five rooms for overnight stays.

Scandic expands in Tromsø with new hotel : The Dock 69°39

🏨 The new 12-story hotel in Vervet district covers 17,300 m², featuring sustainable elements like recycled fishing net carpets, a heated rooftop running track, and Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification. The Dock 69°39 by Scandic includes a rooftop bar, wellness area with sauna, and 10th-floor restaurant. Scandic expands in Scandinavia with a 236-room hotel in Uppsala, an alpine hotel in Sälen for 2027/2028, and Scandic Go Sankt Eriksgatan 20 in Stockholm with 234 rooms.

The Social Hub ramps up investments in local communities, unveiling ‘transformative’ public parks in Rome and Florence

🌳 The Social Hub opens two major parks in Florence and Rome, designed by Antonio Perazzi, with a €260 million investment. Florence features a 7,000 m² rooftop garden with 4,000 plants and a 50m pool. Líbere Hospitality Group expands in Italy with new property in Rome

The Royal Bell to reopen as boutique hotel and club
