The King Alfred Hotel sold to Dorbiere pub group

🏨 Dorbiere acquired The King Alfred Hotel, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, part of LWC, a leading UK drinks wholesaler. The Victorian Gothic hotel, opened in 1904, features a bar, restaurant, function room, and 10 en-suite bedrooms. Managed by Graham Wilkinson and Marslie McGregor from Christie and Co, the sale price remains undisclosed. New plans involve evolving the food menu and transforming the venue into a community hub, led by General Manager Alan Eddevane.

Oxford Castle Quarter comes to market at £31 million

🏠 UK: CBRE has been appointed by the Westgate Partnership to sell Oxford Castle Quarter for over £30.94 million. Located in Oxford's city center, it includes a 95-room Malmaison hotel and 39,134 sq ft of leisure units, all fully let with a WAULT of 14.8 years. Originally a Royal Castle in 1071, it became a prison from 1785 to 1996, and was converted into a hotel and leisure complex in 2006. CBRE anticipates strong global investor interest.

Hyatt Reports Q3 2025 Results

📈 Hyatt Hotels Corporation reported Q3 2025 results from Chicago: RevPAR increased 0.3% compared to Q3 2024. Net rooms grew 12.1%, with a 7.0% rise excluding acquisitions. Net income recorded a loss of $49 million. Gross fees rose 5.9% to $283 million. Adjusted EBITDA increased 5.6% to $291 million. The pipeline includes 141,000 rooms. Notable openings: Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Johannesburg. Total debt stands at $6.0 billion; liquidity at $2.2 billion. Hyatt plans a $0.15/share dividend for Q4 2025.

Choice Hotels enhances loyalty program as Q3 RevPAR goes flat

💸 Choice Hotels International reported a 0.2% global RevPAR increase in Q3 2025, with international RevPAR up 9.5% but U.S. RevPAR down 3.2%. Total revenues rose 5% to $447.3 million. Global net system rooms grew 2.3%. Franchise agreements increased by 54%, and the pipeline exceeded 86,000 rooms. Key expansions: 4,800 rooms in France, 7,600 rooms in China, and entry into Argentina. The Choice Privileges loyalty program will revamp in early 2026 with new rewards and elite status benefits.
