Airbound Raises $1.7M to Expand Drone Delivery
🌍 The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) launched its second Net Zero Roadmap at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, noting a 27% increase over three years in Travel & Tourism businesses setting climate targets. Now, 53% of the analyzed 250 industry leaders have climate targets, up from 42% in 2021. One third of these companies are committed to Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals, doubling since 2021. The sector aims for net zero by 2050, with a 10.2% reduction in greenhouse gas intensity since 2019, including a 6% reduction in aviation's carbon intensity and an 11% reduction in the cruise and accommodation industries' carbon intensity from their peak in 2019. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is highlighted as a key to aviation's decarbonisation.
