You may already know us in France. Over the past few years, 10minhotel.com has grown to become the leading podcast on hotel innovation in France. What began as a conversation about the future of hospitality has evolved into a platform followed by a passionate community, with our French channel surpassing one million views last year.
This success, combined with a growing international demand (symbolized by nearly 100,000 hoteliers who subscribed to our English-language newsletter) led us to an inescapable conclusion: the time had come to open the dialogue globally.
It is with immense pride that we’ve just launched our international podcast channel for “10 Minutes Hotels.”
And for this debut, the choice of our guest and our topic was not random. It was a statement.
The Revenue Manager’s Paradox
Our first English episode, Hotels Have More Data Than Ever — So Where is Generative AI?, featured Samuel Johnson, Director of Operations & Customer Success at LodgIQ.
Ostensibly, the episode is about a new technology. In reality, it is about the fundamental transformation of a profession: that of the Revenue Manager (RM).
As Samuel Johnson pointed out, today’s RM does not suffer from a lack of data, but from a tyranny of signals. It’s the “Monday morning problem,” as I mention in the episode: you open your computer and are flooded by pick-up, pace, compset shifts, event reports, flight data… and the list goes on. Spending two hours compiling reports rather than strategizing is a luxury modern hospitality can no longer afford.
That is why LodgIQ and its AI Wizard emerged as a clear starting point for our international adventure.
Restoring Focus: AI as a Strategic Enabler
At 10minhotel.com, we believe that innovation must respond to real operational challenges. LodgIQ understood this long ago, championing a vision we share: the future of Revenue Management is not about adding more data, but about helping people think better.
The AI Wizard is not a mere pricing optimization black box. It actively supports the RM transformation into a commercial strategist.
The ‘Why’ Matters More Than the ‘What’: A true AI solution should not just recommend — say — a drop in a rate. It should provide the full strategic context behind the recommendation: the risk level, the underlying market behavior, and the forecasted impact on occupancy. It should remove the friction from the critical question posed by the General Manager: “Why are we doing this?”
Focusing on the Essential: By automating monotonous tasks (report compilation, endless spreadsheet analysis), the AI Wizard gives the RM back valuable time to focus on strategic activities: marketing alignment, distribution strategy, and commercial leadership.
A Deliberate First Step for a Global Vision
This message is not new for LodgIQ; it has been part of their philosophy for over a year, anticipating the evolution of the RM’s role toward a broader, more strategic position, managing more stakes and requiring tools that are up to the task.
Our choice to start the international channel with this subject is therefore deliberate. As a podcast dedicated to hotel innovation, we could not ignore the ongoing transformation of Revenue Management, or companies, like LodgIQ, which embody this innovation. Their tool proves that by removing the noise, we give the RM the focus and means to exercise their role to its full potential.
We look forward to continuing this conversation, with more innovative and forward-thinking hospitality companies.
