Hospitable becomes first property management software to natively integrate with Google Nest thermostats

Integration brings Google Nest into Hospitable’s automation engine as short-term rental operators build energy efficiency into the everyday.

SAN FRANCISCO, 28 JULY 2026 – Hospitable has become the first property management system (PMS) to natively integrate with Google Nest thermostats, marking the first direct connection between Google Nest and a vacation rental PMS.

As utility costs remain high and professional operators look for new efficiencies across growing portfolios, automating tasks such as heating and cooling has become an increasingly important part of day-to-day operations.

Between bookings, vacation rentals can spend hours or even days heating or cooling empty homes. For operators managing dozens or hundreds of properties, that unnecessary energy use quickly becomes a meaningful operational cost. Rather than relying on hosts or cleaning teams to manually adjust thermostats after every stay, Hospitable’s new Google Nest integration automatically responds to reservation activity, ensuring homes are comfortable for arriving guests while avoiding unnecessary heating and cooling when properties are vacant.

Over 1,500 hosts have connected over 4,000 thermostats through Hospitable, which have made more than 191,000 automated temperature adjustments to date. Google Nest has been the most requested thermostat brand since Hospitable launched smart thermostat support in January 2024, alongside Ecobee and Honeywell.

The new integration automatically adjusts temperatures based on reservation status, bringing homes to a comfortable temperature before guests arrive, reducing heating and cooling after checkout, and switching to a deeper energy-saving mode during longer vacancy periods before returning properties to guest-ready settings ahead of the next stay.

Hosts can tailor automation to each property through configurable arrival buffers, room-level temperature presets and optional guest controls, allowing them to balance comfort, energy efficiency and operational preferences across their portfolio.

Pierre-Camille Hamana, CEO and Founder of Hospitable, said: “Hosts automated their messaging, then their pricing. Climate control is the next thing they stop doing by hand. What’s changed is the expectation that it’s built into the platform they already run their business on, rather than something they manage in a separate app.”
