📈 By late 2025, hotels have addressed visible sustainability efforts, but key impacts remain in construction, supply chains, and guest travel. Hotels should focus on low-carbon materials and supply-chain emissions disclosures. 🥃 Glengoyne Distillery, a sustainable Highland whisky maker, released the Glengoyne Wetlands Single Cask on 28 October 2025, featuring only 500 bottles at £190 each. This 61.1% ABV whisky is made from Sherry Butt No. 190257, filled on 8 June 2009. Proceeds go to the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. The launch follows the 2021 release celebrating the distillery's wetland sustainability efforts. The bottle features art by Elin Manon, and sales support conservation work.

📍 Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Canada was the first historic hotel to achieve carbon neutrality, featuring rooftop beehives and local eco-certified sourcing. Hôtel Nomad Québec is powered by renewable energy, achieving Biosphere certification. Hôtel Le Germain Québec uses geothermal systems and focuses on local goods. Hôtel du Vieux-Québec offsets emissions with Gold Standard credits and utilizes natural biogas. GCSTlMES, since 2011, has expanded to five operational centers, supporting over 100,000 hospitality groups in sustainable practices across 140 countries.

💡 The Wesley Euston Hotel achieved Eco-Smart Platinum Accreditation, advancing from Gold, for energy and water efficiency, and carbon reduction efforts. The hotel installed energy-efficient lighting, low-flow taps, and smart meters, reducing electricity use by 4% from August 2023 to August 2025. General Manager James Barr emphasized sustainability and responsible practices. Additionally, The Wesley holds Green Key and Green Tourism certifications and offers a Green Meeting package. Its sister hotel in Camden achieved Eco-Smart Gold Accreditation.

📈 U.S. RevPAR rose 6.2% for the week ending 8 November, with occupancy up 1.5% and ADR up 3.6%. Despite the government shutdown, room demand increased by 813K from last year. San Francisco and Washington, D.C. reported 43% RevPAR growth. In India, RevPAR grew 55.8% in Bengaluru. Latin America saw a 20% RevPAR increase led by Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, and Honduras. Global RevPAR rose 7.9%, with Italy’s Rome showing a 33.3% rise.

🌎 Québec City, as of now, joins the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism and the GSTC for sustainable tourism. The GSTC sets global sustainability standards with four pillars: sustainable management, socioeconomic, cultural, and environmental impacts. Research shows 74% of UK consumers believe employee care improves product quality, and 72% are likelier to recommend such companies. Since 2022, Hilton created 2.5 million learning opportunities and supported over 140 workplace opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities. Hilton ranks No. 1 in 17 countries, including the USA, France, and Italy.

📍 Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza, two of three hotels on the island, received the Green Key certification from the Foundation for Environmental Education for their sustainability efforts. Located in Cala Llonga, the hotels excel in energy efficiency, waste management, and local collaborations. Their practices include solar panel installation, LED lighting, and a high recycling index. They support local cancer events and the Cala Llonga community, promoting awareness of local ecosystems.

🏕️ RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, 2025: A pivotal Saudi-Swiss alliance was forged at the TOURISE 2025 Summit, supported by Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb. This 25-year agreement involves Tanmeya Capital and Sommet Education, backed by a SAR600 million fund (€140 million) to bolster Saudi hospitality talent and infrastructure. A new Jeddah campus is in talks with Wadi Jeddah Company. This collaboration aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to elevate tourism and service industry skills.
