🏨 Cairn Hotel Group, headquartered in Newcastle, was named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026, among the top 126 large UK employers. They introduced Cairn Concierge, a digital platform enhancing staff benefits and communication. Internal surveys showed 83% of employees feel safe, and 80% feel empowered and satisfied. Sean Brookes, COO, highlighted investments in HR, payroll, and team development, emphasizing the importance of a supportive culture in hospitality.

🏨 In Mendocino, Northern California, Soul Community Planet (SCP) Hotels exemplifies balance between guest experience and profitability. SCP outperforms others in business metrics while delivering exceptional hospitality and environmental responsibility. Founded by Pamela Cruse and Ken Cruse, SCP prioritizes community engagement and workplace empowerment. Total emissions decreased by over 9%, and emissions per guest night fell 31%. A typical Bob W stay emits 3.78 kg CO₂e per night versus 12 kg CO₂e in typical European hotels. Since 2021, they’ve offset 1,979 tCO₂e through carbon credits. Bob W manages 100+ assets with an average stay of 2.68 nights.
