Andaz Hiroshima to debut in 2027

🏨 Hyatt Hotels Corp. plans to open Andaz Hiroshima in 2027, marking the first Hyatt hotel in western Japan's Chūgoku region. Located in central Hiroshima, the hotel will occupy the 21st to 31st floors of a new high-rise, featuring 235 rooms and suites. The site, once connecting Hiroshima Castle with its town, offers cultural significance. Hiroshima, home to UNESCO sites and a vibrant artistic community, is accessible via Shinkansen and Hiroshima Airport. Andaz Hiroshima will be the second Andaz property in Japan.

IHG taking over management of Adelaide’s Mayfair Hotel and transitioning it to a Kimpton

📌 Adelaide’s Mayfair Hotel will transition to IHG Hotels & Resorts management in mid-December 2025 as part of a partnership with Ark Capital. Built in 1934 and converted in 2015, the 170-room hotel will rebrand as Kimpton Mayfair Adelaide in 2026 after refurbishment. IHG's Kimpton brand entered Australia in 2022 with Kimpton Margot Sydney, and Kimpton Teneriffe is planned for 2031. The hotel will remain open during renovations, which will continue through 2026.

🏨 AC Hotel Savannah Historic District opened in Spring 2025 in Savannah, Ga., on the former site of the Savannah Electric Power Company. The hotel achieved LEED Platinum certification, the highest from the U.S. Green Building Council, after a decade of construction beginning in 2015. It features 170 guestrooms, workspaces, and a fitness area, with sustainable designs like rooftop solar panels. The hotel’s Lavender Rooftop Kitchen & Bar offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with views of Savannah River.

Preferred Hotels adds 14 new members

Scotsman Group acquires Hampton Hotel in Edinburgh

Scotsman Group, established in 1990 with over 40 venues, plans a whisky-led concept. Sale managed by Christie and Co in two weeks. High demand for Scottish hospitality businesses noted by agent Simon Watson.

Hyatt moves forward with an ambitious EMEA expansion plan

📍 Hyatt expands in Europe and the Middle East with new projects. In Europe, the Andaz Lisbon and The Standard Lisbon will open by 2026. The Hyatt Regency Rome Central, Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve, and Kennedy89 in Frankfurt are set for Q4 2025. In the Middle East, Miraval and Grand Hyatt The Red Sea will debut by 2026. The Hyatt Place AlUla and Grand Hyatt Dubai Water Park are also scheduled for 2026. These developments aim to enhance Hyatt’s lifestyle offerings across EMEA by 2027.

Stay Original Company expands with acquisition of the Eastbury Hotel

🏨 UK: The Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne, Dorset, sold by the de Savary family to Stay Original Company. Seventh addition to their portfolio of boutique hotels. Refurbishment set for 2026, featuring new interiors and an all-day dining with a bakery. Originally refurbished in 2018 by Peter and Lana de Savary, adding a spa and luxury potting sheds. Knight Frank's Matthew Smith facilitated the sale. Stay Original directors Greacen and Brooke-Webb express excitement about the acquisition.
