Big Mamma multiplies openings around the world

🍽️ Big Mamma is returning to Paris with Gloria Osteria on rue de Lille in the 7th arrondissement, six years after its initial international ventures. In December, it will expand into the Middle East with a Gloria Osteria at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC in Dubai. The group plans further growth with a sixth location in London, a future Circolo Popolare in Manchester, and its first Irish restaurant. This expansion underscores a strategy targeting urban areas with cultural appeal.

A new partnership shaping Europe’s hotel market

🏨 Land Union Gruppe and B&B HOTELS have opened the 79-room B&B Hotel Lübeck-Berliner Platz near Lübeck’s historic old town. This marks the start of a collaboration to develop ten more hotels across Germany and Europe. Land Union, led by Lutz Strangemann, owns over €2 billion in real estate, while B&B HOTELS operates in 18 countries with over 900 properties. This partnership aims for sustainable growth in the European hotel market.

IHG to open first Kimpton hotel in Austria

🏨 IHG Hotels and Resorts, in partnership with Tristar Austria, will open the 119-room Kimpton Salzburg in mid-2028, marking Kimpton's debut in Austria. Located by the Salzach River, the hotel will feature river views, 11 suites, a wellness area, and meeting spaces. It is part of a redevelopment project led by Midstad. The opening reflects Salzburg's role as Austria's second-largest hospitality market, following Vienna. IHG has 14 hotels in Austria and over 210 in the DACH region.

Mama Shelter heads to the mountains

🏔 Mama Shelter, part of Accor via Ennismore, is opening its first mountain hotel in Val Thorens, Europe's highest ski resort, by autumn 2027. Located on the Cairn Plateau at 2,100m, it will feature 148 rooms, a spa, a cinema, and a 350-bed capacity. This all-inclusive multi-night stay model marks the brand's shift from urban settings. The project, supported by Vista, Galata, and Cogeco, aims to boost Val Thorens' year-round tourism. Another similar project is planned for Marrakech in 2027.

Hyatt opening an Andaz hotel in Hong Kong
