Onko Chishin adds two new ryokans

🏨 Onko Chishin Inc. will open two historic onsen ryokans: IZU RETREAT in November 2025 and OTARU RETREAT in December 2025. IZU, located in Atagawa, Izu Peninsula, features 16 suites with private onsens. OTARU, in Otaru, Hokkaido, consists of 18 rooms with sodium-calcium chloride hot springs. Both properties aim to provide cultural engagement and access to Japan’s major cities. CEO Tomoki Matsuyama emphasizes their mission as storytellers of Japan's hidden treasures.

Accor rebrands four Australian hotels with Elanor

Byron Bay Hotel becomes The Sebel Byron Bay, Barossa Weintal transitions to Mercure Barossa Valley, Clare Country Club relaunches as Peppers Clare Valley, and Adabco Boutique Hotel becomes Mantra Wakefield Adelaide. Managed by 1834 Hotels, these changes aim to boost performance and guest satisfaction. The project involves refurbishments and adds to Accor's nine-hotel portfolio, enhancing brand position and commercial outcomes.

Marriott marks 100th EMEA Moxy hotel with Belfast opening

🏨 Marriott International has launched its 100th Moxy hotel in EMEA with Moxy Belfast City, the first in Northern Ireland, featuring 179 rooms. Located centrally in Belfast, the hotel showcases playful design and vibrant spaces. Opened in partnership with MHL Hotel Collection, it marks a decade milestone for Moxy, now present in 18 destinations with 100 hotels. By 2025, Moxy plans five more hotel launches across Europe, including locations in Portugal, Ireland, Germany, UK, and France.

Countrylarge to develop new aparthotel in central Harrogate

🏠 Countrylarge is developing a 17-key, 25-bedroom aparthotel in central Harrogate, funded by a £3.6 million loan from OakNorth Bank. It will be operated by Beyond Aparthotels, aiming to be the UK's first carbon-neutral serviced apartment brand. The aparthotel will be strategically located near the Victoria Shopping Centre and public transport. Founded in 2007, Countrylarge has completed over £250 million in developments and maintains a £200 million secured pipeline.

Numa expands UK portfolio with new London and Edinburgh sites

🏠 Numa Group announced three new property signings in the UK. In 2025, it will redevelop a listed building on Margaret Street, London, creating 30 units near Oxford Street. In Edinburgh, deals with HUB will provide 117 units, including 45 units in Leith near the Royal Yacht Britannia and 72 units on Thistle Street. Numa acquired Native Places in 2024 and operates in 15 countries with 9,000 units. Future expansions are planned for Manchester, Bristol, Belfast, and Glasgow.

Chedi Hospitality launches first branded residences in Saudi Arabia

🏠 Chedi Hospitality has launched 20 luxury villas in Wadi Safar, Saudi Arabia, as part of Diriyah Company's masterplan. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, each villa offers 4-5 bedrooms and views of a Greg Norman-designed golf course. Owners gain access to exclusive amenities, including a residents' club and wellness facilities. An 85-room Chedi hotel is also planned. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The location is 25 minutes from Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport.
