🏨 Courtyard by Marriott opened a 150-bedroom hotel in Sheffield at the Advanced Manufacturing Park, owned by Stapleford Ventures and operated by RBH Hospitality Management. It’s RBH’s first Sheffield property, featuring a restaurant, bar, meeting spaces, and a fitness center. David Hart, RBH CEO, emphasized strengthening ties with Marriott. Notable facilities are managed by Filipe Chaby-Rodrigues. Recent Marriott news includes property sales and openings in London and Cape Town, with dates in December 2025.

🏨 Dominus and Cheyne Capital acquire Ibex House in City of London for a 382-bedroom hotel conversion. The Art Deco building, vacant since its office use, will target BREEAM Excellent standards. The project includes a public café, refurbished Peacock pub, and a hospitality academy with The Springboard Charity. Dominus, focusing on repurposing offices, also acquired 5–10 Great Tower Street and 123 Judd Street for hotel developments. Across the UK, they have 3,800 student beds and 1,700 hotel rooms in progress.

🏨 Timbre Hotels, a boutique hospitality brand, operates three properties in Porto, Portugal, offering 248 accommodation units. The flagship is Timbre Virtudes, a five-star hotel with 71 rooms in a 16th-century building. Timbre Heroísmo, a four-star hotel with 153 rooms, caters to business travelers. Timbre Boavista features 24 serviced apartments. The brand emphasizes heritage design and wellness, with offerings like guided walks, mindfulness sessions, and personal training. Adérito Oliveira, managing director, notes the focus on Porto's distinctive character.

🏨 Duke Street Boutique Hotel reopened in Liverpool in December 2025, a month after its purchase by Golding Group for £2.25 million. Originally launched in 2021, the hotel briefly went into administration. It features 30 en-suite rooms, with three offering courtyard access. Refurbished to premium standards, it now provides full staffing, a redesigned reception with a resident's bar, and a Breakfast-To-Go service. Room rates start at £50-60 per weekday.

🍴 Fleurette opened on December 10 in La Jolla, San Diego. Helmed by chef Travis Swikard, it offers Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the French-Italian Riviera. The restaurant features a Provençal-inspired garden and a 120-seat space with a 24-seat patio. Signature dishes include bouillabaisse with local fish, fresh pastas, and lobster aïoli. Open Tuesday to Sunday, its bar, led by James Roe, follows local and Riviera inspirations. Sommelier Tracy Latimer curates a predominantly Old World and California wine list.

🍴 La Stella Italian Steakhouse and Music Lounge opened in Addison, Dallas in 2025, occupying an 11,000-square-foot space that housed Lawry's The Prime Rib for over 40 years. Designed by Daniele Venenzoni, it blends Old World Italian and Art Deco styles. The venue, hosting over 400 guests, includes a music lounge for 21+ patrons. Signature dishes include a 40-ounce bistecca alla Fiorentina and Japanese A5 wagyu steak. Expansion plans target Fort Worth.

🏨 Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) marked its 35th anniversary in 2025 by adding 100 new member hotels, surpassing 650 properties across over 90 countries. In 2026, new openings include Niva Labriz Seychelles, Shanghai Muh Shoou Zhujing in China, The Landmark Rhodes in Greece, and THE PASONA in Japan. In Australia, Levantine Hill Hotel will open, as well as Sanctuary Rainforest Resort in Dominica. SLH’s partnership with Hilton celebrated its first anniversary in July 2025, boosting revenue by 18%.

📑 Sonesta International Hotels Corporation opened 45 hotels in November under franchisee NPA. These include 30 Sonesta ES Suites, 14 Sonesta Select Hotels, and 1 Sonesta Simply Suites, spread across 15 states. This expansion is part of a planned sale of 113 managed properties. By 2024, Sonesta aims to add 10 more properties, totaling 14,803 rooms in 28 states. NPA aligns with Sonesta for their industry expertise and market knowledge.

🏨 Travelodge expanded significantly in 2025, opening 21 hotels and adding over 1,800 rooms in the UK. New builds were in Skegness, Harwich, London Beckenham, and Chiswick, while 17 hotels were acquired and rebranded. Nine hotels were upgraded, with more to follow in 2026. Projects include a 182-room hotel in Cardiff and developments in Douglas and Watford. Internationally, new acquisitions in Madrid and Bilbao are planned for 2026-2027. Sustainability features were emphasized in new builds.
