🏨 Based on a survey of 1,014 U.S. travelers, including 540 hotel guests and 474 vacation rental guests, the 2026 Hospitality Benchmarks Report highlights that 63% of travelers prioritize cleanliness over cost (44.8%). Nearly 64% of travelers aged 61+ prefer hotels, while those under 30 favor vacation rentals. Vacation rentals earned a higher Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 50.9 compared to hotels at 41.8. Meanwhile, 87% of travelers aged 30-44 read online reviews.
