Kempinski acquires the Augustine Hotel in Prague, planning rebranding by 2026. Grupotel purchases the 372-room Hotel Ocean House in Málaga, Spain.

🏨 Red Roof's RIDE initiative, launched nearly three years ago, has added over 40 women and representatives from underserved markets to its ownership community as of July 2023. By 2025, six new "Riders" joined, learning hotel ownership fundamentals. Red Roof, partnering with Bridge, offers access to 150+ lenders. Leadership, including Lina Patel and Jaya Desai, emphasizes expanding ownership opportunities, aiming for multiunit ownership and generational wealth. Desai opened a second property in Huntsville in 2025.

🏨 HEI Hotels & Resorts has added The Westin Poinsett in Greenville, S.C., marking its first managed property in South Carolina. Located on South Main Street, this 200-room hotel is just a block from the Peace Center. Originally opened in 1925 and renovated as a Westin in 2000, it was listed in the Historic Hotels of America in 2002. This is the second property HEI manages for Highline Hospitality Partners.

🏨 Samko Real Estate Holdings joined The International Stock Exchange for UK REIT status. The London-based group holds £62m in hospitality assets across the southeast of England. They listed 61,800,001 shares to access public capital for acquisitions. As a REIT, they must distribute 90% of rental profits quarterly. Their portfolio includes hotels like Crowne Plaza London Kingston. They aim for £400m in assets by 2028. Chairman Sampath Kumar Mallaya emphasizes disciplined growth and sustainable returns.

📈 Orion Capital Managers and International Hotel Investments Plc completed the transaction announced in January 2026, with Orion acquiring a 72% stake in the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon. This five-star, 518-room hotel is the largest of its kind in Lisbon and remains managed by Corinthia Hotels Limited. Key contributors included Jones Lang LaSalle as broker, Vieira de Almeida and Abreu as legal counsels, and Ficope and Arcadis for technical advice.

💸 Nomura acquired the Centara Grand Hotel Osaka, a 34-storey, 515-key hotel, for JPY38.5 billion, which is approximately JPY74.8 million per key. The hotel opened in 2023 and spans 39,131 sqm in Osaka, Japan. Hulic sold its Minatomirai asset in Yokohama; the value surpassed 10% of FY2025's net sales, totaling JPY727.447 billion. Deltine Capital bought the 44-key Country Motel Ipswich in Queensland for AUD19.5 million, targeting a 12.4% annual yield.

🏨 Wyndham Hotels & Resorts now operates over 100 hotels in Mexico, covering more than 50 cities with 15 brands. Mexico's tourism reached 47.8 million arrivals in 2025, generating nearly $35 billion USD. The country aims to become a top five destination by 2030. Key partners like Alzen and Bel Air contribute over 2,000 rooms. Wyndham invests $425 million in technology since 2018, with 122 million members in their rewards program.

💸 Seven major hotel groups owed $11.6 billion in unredeemed points by the end of last year. Marriott's share is nearly $4 billion, while Hilton's is close to $3 billion. The rise is due to co-branded credit card deals and increased loyalty program enrollment. Despite the liabilities, executives aren’t worried because travelers often accumulate points faster than they use them.
