💵 Newmark arranged a $94.36 million loan for Newbond Holdings and Apollo to refinance Hotel Cala, a 281-key property in Tampa, Florida. The financing was provided by Bain Capital and Smith Hill Capital. Hotel Cala, formerly Hotel Tampa Riverwalk, is undergoing a full renovation and rebranding under the Curio Collection. Located along the Tampa Riverwalk, it offers access to key sites like the Tampa Convention Center and the $3.5 billion Water Street development.

Pandox Completes €1.4 Billion Acquisition of Dalata; Leadership Changes and Restructuring Expected by Late 2026

🏨 Scandic Hotels Group plans to lead Dalata’s markets through a COO-led structure after acquiring Dalata for €1.4 billion in July 2025. The acquisition finalized in November 2025, with restructuring expected to conclude in late 2026. Dermot Crowley and Shane Casserly will step down later this year, with Crowley overseeing the addition of 16 hotels and 3,800 rooms since 2021. Dalata will open three hotels in Dublin, Edinburgh, and Berlin this year.

Dermot Crowley and Shane Casserly to step down as CEO and deputy CEO in 2023. Since 2021, Crowley expanded Dalata with 16 hotels. Three new hotels open this year in Dublin, Edinburgh, and Berlin, with ongoing developments in London, Edinburgh, and Madrid.

Global Hotel Alliance Reports $921 Million Q1 2026 Revenue, 24% Increase Over Previous Year with Strong Membership Growth

🏨 Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) saw a 24% revenue increase in Q1 2026, reaching $921 million. Room revenue hit $738 million, up 27%. Cross-brand revenue rose 40% to $135 million. GHA DISCOVERY membership grew 36% to 35 million. Top feeder markets, including the U.S. and U.K., generated $202 million. Thailand, Spain, Singapore, and Italy led in member stay revenue. The UAE showed strong performance early on but softened in March. International stays made up 69% of revenue.

Hyatt Regency Chicago Completes $368 Million Renovation Covering 2,032 Rooms and All Major Event Spaces

📅 Chicago, April 2026: Hyatt Regency Chicago completed a multi-year renovation of its 2,032 rooms and suites, enhancing event and public spaces since 2013. The $368 million project included a $168 million lobby update and culminated with a $200 million transformation of all guest and meeting areas. The Grand Ballroom, now 24,000 square feet, features customizable LED panels and digital enhancements. General Manager Mark Wagner highlighted the renovations' aim to meet modern networking and business needs.

Leopold Hotel in Sheffield Listed for Sale After Reporting £2.42 Million Turnover in 2025

🏨 The Leopold Hotel in Sheffield, initially a boys’ grammar school from 1800, was converted into a boutique hotel in 2007. Located on Leopold Street, it offers 89 en-suite rooms, a lounge bar, and meeting facilities. Managed by Colliers, it is near key attractions like Town Hall and Crucible Theatre. In 2025, it reported a turnover of £2.42m, with growth anticipated for 2026. The World Snooker Championship will remain at the nearby Crucible Theatre until 2045.

Greenwich Hospitality Group Secures 57-Year Lease for The Exeter Inn, Plans Major Upgrades in Exeter, N.H.

🏠 Greenwich Hospitality Group has acquired a 57-year leasehold interest in The Exeter Inn in Exeter, N.H. , from Phillips Exeter Academy. Main Street Hospitality and Arbor Lodging are partners in this transaction. The property will see upgrades, thanks to Main Street Hospitality's asset management. Investors include Charles Mallory, Sarah Eustis, Adam Cassidy, and Arbor Lodging's Vamsi Bonthala and Sheenal Patel. The Inn benefits from Exeter's year-round demand and proximity to New Hampshire's Seacoast.
