September 19, 2025 – Coeur d’Alene, ID – Casago Unwind, a new Casago franchise partner, has been appointed to manage more than 50 Vacasa vacation rental properties in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Casago Unwind is led by Edward and Michele Johnson, who bring deep local ties to the community. Edward was raised in the Coeur d’Alene area, while Michele grew up nearby in Montana. Together, they bring personal knowledge of the region’s tourism appeal and a shared commitment to building a property management business rooted in guest experience, homeowner trust, and community engagement.

The move follows Casago’s acquisition of Vacasa earlier this year and represents another milestone in Casago’s strategy to transition former Vacasa markets into its franchise-driven model.

With Casago’s infrastructure and systems supporting operations, Casago Unwind will oversee all operations locally, giving homeowners and guests direct access to a full Coeur d’Alene-based team backed by Casago’s national systems and infrastructure. Discussions are underway to retain members of the existing Vacasa team to ensure continuity and consistency through the transition and beyond.

Steve Schwab, founder and CEO of Casago, said: “Edward and Michele are exactly the kind of local leaders we want representing Casago. They know this market, they care about this community, and they have a vision for raising the bar on vacation rental management in Coeur d’Alene. By giving them the tools and support of our national platform, we’re ensuring homeowners and guests get the best of both worlds: local expertise and global standards.”

Michele Johnson, co-owner of Casago Unwind, said: “We’re excited to bring a fresh start to vacation rentals in Coeur d’Alene. Our focus is on creating stays that guests remember and giving homeowners confidence that their properties are well cared for. Casago gives us the backing to grow while keeping things personal and local.”

Known for its pristine lakes, mountain views, and four-season tourism, Coeur d’Alene is one of the Pacific Northwest’s fastest-growing travel destinations. Casago’s entry into the market through a franchise partner ensures a seamless transition for homeowners and guests, while supporting long-term growth and local stewardship.

The launch reinforces Casago’s franchise-first model, which has expanded rapidly across the U.S., Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

By pairing the responsiveness of local ownership with the scale of a national network, Casago is setting a new standard for professional vacation rental management.
