Vancouver, Canada, 15 January 2026 – Operto has appointed Tim Major as Chief Executive Officer, marking a pivotal moment for the automated hospitality operations and guest experience platform as it enters a new phase of leadership, focus, and ambition.

The appointment signals a clear shift in direction for Operto, with Major tasked with bringing renewed clarity to the company’s vision, product strategy, and long-term market positioning. As CEO, he will lead Operto’s next chapter with a focus on pragmatic innovation across short-term rentals and hotels, while driving the development of a new category of agentic AI designed specifically for independent hotels.

Major brings more than 15 years of experience in hospitality technology, combining deep industry knowledge with a strong track record in product development and executive leadership. He has spent much of his career building custom applications for the hospitality industry and previously served as President of Property Management Systems at Fullsteam, where he led a portfolio of five PMS brands including IQware, Megasys, Resort Data Processing, RoomKeyPMS, and Maestro, representing approximately $40 million in annual recurring revenue.

During his time at Fullsteam, Major operated within a broader hospitality division encompassing more than a dozen businesses across PMS, point-of-sale, and golf technology. In his role, he worked closely with independent hotels running long-standing and highly specialized systems, giving him firsthand insight into the operational realities, technical constraints, and modernization challenges facing the hotel industry today.

At Operto, Major’s responsibilities include continuing to build innovative, pragmatic, and commercially useful products for both hotels and short-term rental operators. In the near term, his focus is on partnering closely with hotels as they explore AI initiatives, bringing valuable agentic AI products to market that are grounded in real operational needs.

Tim Major, CEO at Operto, said: “Operto is in a strong position to lead the next phase of technology in hospitality. The company has built its reputation by solving practical operational problems and has a solid foundation across both short-term rentals and hotels, supported by a highly experienced product development team that understands how hospitality actually works.

My responsibility is to continue building innovative, pragmatic products across hotels and short-term rentals, while partnering closely with hotels in North America and Europe as they explore what AI can deliver in real-world environments. Hospitality remains one of the most fragmented technology landscapes, with many hotels still operating on long-standing systems. There is a significant opportunity to introduce intelligent AI layers that help modernize these environments, making hoteliers and operators more successful without adding complexity or forcing disruptive change.”
