Unveils Fully Renovated Guest Rooms, Meeting Spaces and Public Areas

The Historic Hotel Also Added Four Additional Guest Rooms

Boston, MA – August 2026 / NewsmakerAlert: Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown, managed by Marriott International, Inc., announces the completion of a comprehensive renovation of its guest rooms, meeting spaces and public areas at its historic location at 275 Tremont Street in the Theater District of downtown Boston.

The renovation preserves the building’s storied past — originally constructed as an Elks Lodge and later operating as the Bradford Hotel — while providing modern comforts and refreshed design throughout. The property’s updated interiors blend contemporary hospitality standards with thoughtful nods to the building’s architectural character, creating a welcoming environment for business and leisure travelers alike.

The Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown boasts preserved 1920s architecture including original ceilings and chandeliers, an original mail chute running through every floor, historic emblems and gold designs, original fireplaces and historic storytelling plaques and walls throughout various floors. The 15-story property offers a unique experience paying homage to the Theater District.

Highlights of the renovation include:

  • Fully refreshed guest rooms featuring updated finishes, new furnishings, upgraded lighting and modern in-room amenities designed for comfort and productivity.
  • Reimagined meeting and event spaces with flexible layouts, upgraded technology and contemporary design to better accommodate corporate meetings, social events and group gatherings.
  • Refreshed public areas, including the lobby and communal spaces, with enhanced seating, improved flow and refreshed design elements to support both casual work and social interaction.

“As stewards of a building with deep roots in Boston’s downtown, we’re proud to celebrate the property’s history while delivering an elevated, modern experience for our guests,” said Ken Lavigne, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown. “The renovated spaces reflect our commitment to quality and to the needs of today’s travelers, whether they’re visiting for business, an event, or a city break.”
