LONDON, 9 January, 2026 – Journey, the market leader in hotel retailing and the hospitality industry’s first unified Performance Platform, has appointed Andrew Metcalfe as Group Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO), marking a significant step in the company’s next phase of growth as it accelerates product development and platform evolution.

Metcalfe joins Journey from Access Hospitality, where he most recently served as CTO and Product & Engineering Director arriving via the acquisition of Guestline by The Access Group. Following the acquisition Andrew led Product Development across the full portfolio of Access Hospitality products including SHR, Resdiary & Staah, leading technology and product teams across a complex, multi-product hospitality portfolio. Prior to Guestline and Access Hospitality, he held senior roles at VE Interactive and OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings.

Alongside his technology career, Metcalfe is also a hotel owner, having developed Downham Hall, a Georgian boutique hotel nestled in Essex countryside, giving him first-hand experience of the operational, commercial and guest challenges facing hospitality businesses today.

At Journey, Metcalfe will lead technology and product strategy across the company’s Hospitality Performance Platform, as the business continues to help luxury hotels move beyond selling rooms alone and unlock greater revenue from experiences around the stay. Trusted by more than 750 hotels and resorts, Journey is the UK market leader in hotel ecommerce.

The appointment comes at a time of strong momentum for Journey, as the company invests in new product functionality, including an Experience Management System (EMS), and deeper platform integration to support hotel partners seeking improved performance, scalability and long-term value, both in the UK and beyond.

Simon Bullingham, CEO of Journey, said: “Andrew joins Journey at a pivotal moment in our growth. As we continue to evolve the platform and strengthen our product delivery, his experience leading large, complex hospitality product teams is exactly what we need. Just as importantly, Andrew understands hospitality from the inside out. His appointment underlines our commitment to building a platform that helps hoteliers move beyond the room and start capturing revenue opportunities from moments that surround the stay by retailing experiences and making them more shoppable for guests.”

Andrew Metcalfe, Group Chief Technology & Product Officer at Journey, said: “Hospitality is an industry I feel deeply connected to, both professionally and personally. Journey is bringing a new way of thinking to how hotels drive direct revenue, particularly as the industry begins to look beyond rate-led growth alone. I’m excited to work with Simon and his excellent team, now as a colleague in addition to being a customer, to strengthen the platform, accelerate delivery and help shape the next stage of Journey’s ambitious growth.”

Metcalfe’s appointment reinforces Journey’s focus on product excellence and execution, as the company bolsters its leadership bench to support continued growth and an expanding customer base.
