Durban, South Africa – August 2026: Radisson Blu Hotel, Durban Umhlanga is pleased to announce the appointment of Samir Ramdial as General Manager, effective 11 August 2026.
A South African hospitality professional with more than 10 years of experience, Ramdial has worked across leading four- and five-star hotels in Africa and Europe, as well as internationally aboard luxury cruise ships.
Ramdial joins the hotel from Four Points by Sheraton Kigali, where he currently serves as Hotel Manager. In this role, he oversees the operations of the 154-room property, including three food and beverage outlets, nine event venues and a team of 148 associates. During his tenure, he has played an important role in strengthening operational performance, guest satisfaction, financial results and team development.
His career also includes leadership roles at Protea Hotel by Marriott Johannesburg Wanderers, Premier Quatermain and Premier Falstaff Hotels, The Palace Hotel & Spa, Princess Cruises, Coastlands Hotel Umhlanga, Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Towers and Sofitel London Gatwick Hotel.
Ramdial holds a Diploma in Hospitality Management from the International Hotel School in Durban and completed the Management and Leadership Development Programme through Stellenbosch Business School Executive Development.
