Accor extends the Orient Express legacy to large-format yachting

🚢 Construction of the Orient Express Olympian began with steel cutting on January 30, 2025. The 220-meter yacht will see its keel laid in November 2025, launch in April 2026, and delivery by April 2027. Its sister ship, Orient Express Corinthian, begins sea trials in December 2025. The project is part of Accor's expansion, as the Orient Express brand also introduces luxury hotels in Rome by 2025 and Venice by April 2026.

L Architects uses double-bullnose bricks to create flat that “plants would enjoy”

🌳 In Singapore's Hougang, L Architects revamped a 98-square-metre flat for plant-loving clients. 🏡 Utilizing 571 rare double-bullnose bricks, they transformed the space, removing two walls to create an open-plan area. 💡 Glass doorways and louvered windows enhance light and ventilation. 🌱 Focusing on plant placement, they designed a multifunctional area with a brick island and bench. The project, shortlisted for the 2025 Dezeen Awards, merges nature with design in a residential interior. 🌿

Marriott marks a new milestone as the Saudi market accelerates

🏨 Marriott International reached 100 operational and pipeline properties in Saudi Arabia, signing a 1,100-room Courtyard by Marriott in Makkah with SEDCO Capital, set to open in 2030. The hotel will cover 4,500 sqm, part of the Masar development, and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030. Marriott operates 44 properties with over 11,000 rooms in Saudi Arabia, bolstered by religious tourism. Masar aims to host 30 million pilgrims annually, enhancing urban infrastructure.

Iconic Sheffield Hotel Rebrands Following 18-Month Transformation

🏨 Northland Properties rebranded and renovated the Sandman Signature Sheffield Quays Hotel, previously Best Western Plus, after 18 months of work. Acquired in June 2022 with renovations starting November 2023, it's set for completion by Summer 2026. The hotel now boasts 128 renovated rooms, a new 5,000 sq ft bar and restaurant, and rebranded leisure facilities. By 2026, 32 more rooms will be added. Tavern on The Quays opened September 22, 2025, seating 90 with a 200-capacity ballroom planned.

Sofitel New York unveils Art Deco renovations

The hotel includes 6,500 sq. ft. of event space and three dining venues: EMRE, Pine Street Bistro, and Esperanza on The Rooftop.

Hoxton opens first Irish hotel after reviving former Central Hotel site

🏨 The Hoxton opened its first Irish hotel in Dublin's Creative Quarter after restoring the former Central Hotel. The 129-room hotel on Exchequer Street features archaeological finds, including Viking-era materials and medieval coins. Elysian Real Estate reveals bohème hotel in Austin
